In loop gas change calculation

Ross, are you basing this comment on some form of enduring material that people can review, because there is clear evidence from earlier in this thread that your interpretation and/or recollection of things that get said in conversations (and by inference presentations) can be substantially inaccurate.

Simon M

There is a ton of interesting and contemporary information at these TekDiveUSA presentations, and people too. I go there armed with questions and a notepad. I also make my own audio recordings of the sessions. Later I have also paid for transcribing of the topics I really want go through carefully.

It's a real shame the organizer does not provide a hard copy to attendee's afterwards. Currently all that valuable information, just evaporates into thin air.

So yes Simon, I do know what was presented.

Note: I'm not sure if I can share these. I would need to talk with Randy first.

As to your implied accusation - well you have fabricated more false allegations (again).

To be fair Ross, the gas kinetics research was controlled animal testing. Isn't VPM based on lab testing and computer simulation?

Not sure how one view is considered too much of an edge case to be incorporated into a model but the other is not.

The physics of microbubble growth was found in lab testing. The VPM model is one application of that microbubble growth physics, as are other industrial processes. The theory of tissue extra-vascular bubble growth and DCS is well documented and researched, and common to most deco models. The VPM model brings together the physics of microbubbles and the theory of DCS tissue bubbles.

This "new" gas kenetic measurement is not well tested in the dive environment. The theory needs more testing in different ways and places in the dive spectrum. You don't know what it will do to profiles: longer, shorter, fatter, thinner...or..... nothing much at all ???

No one is going to force that much unknown onto the public.

Now, Gareth, as you are so keen to get started - here is a real challenge for you:

Use V-Planner and the Advanced setting to cook up your own deco based on new gas kinetics. Then go do 50 dives with your friends, document them well, and come back and share the experience. If you have some valid data, then we can get started.

Gareth-

There you have it, not just an invitation, but DIRECTIONS from the manufacturer to use his product irresponsibly.

You just have to be willing to be cripplingly bent and you've got an easy million dollar lawsuit in your future.

Thanks for that link simon cleared up some questions I had.always nice to get some good inside's
