Which wing you use? For my weigh / configuration I never use the bcd so I'm looking for a very minimal and low profile wing what do you recommend? thnaks

How does a horseshoe give more loft at the hips? I would have thought the doughnut style achieved this better.

I use the diverite CCR wing. very small and out of the way when not inflated but TBH it's a bit too small and hardly lifts me out of the water when carrying stages and a scooter.

Hi

I've been using APV Buddy Redwings for years. They are extremely well manufactured and are bullet proof. Got one now on my Pathfinder - works very well, and it's black - #Rule 6!!!!!!

Halcyon CCR 35 triangular wing is small and neet but being triangular it puts most of the lift low down to get you higher out of the water.

Had my one for several years now still in very good condition dispite my abuse on shipwrecks. I have been very impressed with it

my diverite ccr wing is 40lb and it would be fine in a lake or a flat calm sea but it's not really enough lift in big seas. depends where you're diving and how much additional weight of kit you want to support at the surface.

I also use a Evolve 40.

I had a custom mod done at the factory to allow me to route the hoses cleanly between my back plate and wing..

much clearner with no hoses coming over the wing.

Looks nice but guessing very expensive.

What is the lift of the original JJ wing?

EDIT: Found it on the price guides, 22.5 kg (49.6 lbs)

Well, considering a JJ CCR costs roughly about $10k USD after landing it and buying tanks and regs here.. Then ~$450 for a very high quality wing is the least of your worries..

I've used an Agir Niord 44, an Agir Niord 40, a DSS CCR wing and a Light Monkey 38lb STW. All worked very well. The wing I've held onto is the DSS wing as people have offered me good money for the others and the DSS one is hardest for me to replace.

I've tried some larger. (50lb+) horseshoe style wings and they didn't work so well, ditto the larger donuts. Bad trim, poor kidney dump access, crappy gas migration on ascend and generally less comfortable dives. Diving a Drysuit on CCR I find you generally don't much from your wing so I've never needed anything more than 38lb lift even with bailout on the surface in reasonable chop waiting for the boat to pick my ass up.

+1 Use the same wing on my Meg.

I'm Using an Agir Niord 40, But I've also used a Frog midnight and Golem Gear Donut CCR wing. All worked well and more life than enough lift especially when using your suit for buoyancy.

I have one of those winds under storage and I really like it.
Would you mind if I ask you a couple of q's

Does the wing presses onto the lungs when inflated?
Does the elbow interfere with the ccr hoses?

Would you have a pic or two?

Thanks
