The URSUIT could very well be the best value in its class, I bought one as a back up but dive it almost exclusively. Dont expect it to outperform the super premium level suits like a custom CF200, SANTI E.LITE and other 3000-4000 options but keep in mind you're paying 30-50% less.

It's light, VERY tough, cut to fit most and has a GREAT mfg warranty

The only complaint is that the valves are not true LOW PROFILE and bulkier then they need to be.

For 2000 USD I received the following:

Ursuit
Light MOnkey P Valve
Replaced the stock boots with SANTI's equivalent of Turbo Soles
DUI Warn Neck Collar

C'mon guys, where are those reviews? I've been given the go-ahead for a new suit and this could be the one.

I own this suit and cant recommend it highly enough, feels very tough and the quality of the manufacturing is evident everywhere you look. Nice big pockets, positioned well. As above, the shoulder dump isnt particularly low profile and i had to trim the neoprene neck cover as it would rub under my chin when seated, apart from those two minor gripes its a fine piece of equipment.. I managed to get mine for a steal when silent planet in portland were selling on ebay... Mine is a standard off the peg and it fits better than my previous suit which was made to measure. The size guide on the ursuit website is very accurate... They also do a range of undersuits, that unlike others actually perform better after cleaning (according to the technical blurb).... I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone..

Specifically, addressed to all owners, do you have the BDS material, or their other materials?

I am ordering a suit this week from them, and while I am leaning towards the breathable material, my LDS (who does more than half of his business doing drysuit repairs) has expressed some concern about the breathable material. For me, I think it would be magic: We often are dressing in 30c degree air to then dive where water temperature is 3c, and we sweat like pigs on deck and then are sweat-soaked and cold on the bottom. Before I lay down the cash for a BDS material suit I'd appreciate a few comments to that material specifically.

I've just ordered one (the Heavy Light Kevlar BDS). The stock large fits me really well over my Xm450 and heated vest, which is the bulkiest insulation I'd wear, so I've gone for that with the Tech Dry boots, SiTech Antares wrist system and an Agir pee valve.

I did ask if they could fit the new SiTech Neck Tite system but they can't do that, which is a pity.

Gotta wait anything up to 6 weeks now..................

Dave - there's a review addressing the breathability here. According to my LDS, the Bare suit featured in this review has been plagued with problems of the material de-laminating. No such issues have been raised about the Ursuit.

Personally, I'm taking the breathability claims with a bit of a pinch of salt, although I've heard good things about the DUI version used in tropical zones.

The suit is very light and donning/doffing was super easy.

^^ Thanks.

I wanted a Bare last year (LOVE the new T-Zipper), but the recall and replacement set me back a bit...

I "think" that the LDS is branding the Ursuit BDS with the same iron, but wanted to be sure.

Anyone else?

Buddy has been using one for about a year with no issues. He had it with him on Malta and I don't think breathability of the material made any difference what so ever, running around in 30 degrees C in a jumpsuit is still way too hot. There's a few more around locally and I can't recall anyone complaining. One bad thing about the cordura ursuit, which may apply to the kevlar as well, is that the seals are glued to the inside of a longer sleeve which makes putting on dry gloves an annoyance.

I have an Ursuit as well, the heavy/light version which I love, still going strong after eight years with the last three seeing use with my students. Still has the original zipper. One neck seal replaced and last year the HD wrist seals finally gave out. Mine is a standard size and not adapted to technical diving so I mainly use one of my Santis. The price difference is far less pronounced in Scandinavia, especially if you start getting it up to technical specs with pee-valves, proper pockets etc.

^^ Thanks. I'll be specifying permanently attached wrist rings so the seal attachment will be to them, not to the suit itself, so that alleviates that.

Who else?

After asking around specifically about problems I found one guy who just scrapped his Ursuit kevlar after just over a year and around 400 dives since the suit pretty much disintegrated on him - seams failing as well as the material itself.

I know the owner of that specific drysuit, the material seems to be delaminating and leeking right thru.
To my knowledge Ursuk (who make the drysuit) refused to replace this suit...

Thats some crappy customer service for an only 1 year old drysuit in which the material itself is failing...

I had a choice between the bare and the kevlar bds when i was shopping for a suit about a year ago. What put me off the bare was the material. It cannot be field repaired at all. Actually even a pee valve has to be ordered from the factory as the dealer couldn't install it. Then were the recalls...
My ursuit bds is flawless for a bit less than a year that I've had it.
It is cooler to kit up in but it can only do so much with thick thermals under the sun and high temps.

I've got the BDS and love it, had it 7 months, no issues with the material. As for it's breathability at best it can only ever be as breathable as your undersuit. I haven't tried diving it in shorts and a t shirt yet so can't comment any more than this.
