Standard procedure to accomplish a diluent flush ?

Come to think of it, what's the best/standard way of DIL flushing a standard meg but with a BOV and FFM?

Same way with both. In both cases I vent gas through my mouth. I'm not aware of any good reason to do it differently.

OPV open or closed?
I actually used to have mine closed without FFM, but now OPV open when using the FFM.

The former is contrary to normal procedure, there again, I swap to BOV immediately rather than DIL flush.

If I just want to cycle gas through the loop with DIL using a FFM I alternate breath BOV/loop:

breath in from BOV(OC), switch to loop, breath out into loop, breath in from loop, breath out through nose, repeat 3 times

On descent I also tend to top-off my lungs from the BOV(OC) now rather than use the ADV. Probably lots of arguments not to, but I find it more controlled.

o2 flushes : BOV(OC), OPV open, hit the o2 MAV

Same here. I think it was the way I was taught. Don't see much point in opening it if orally venting. I guess it may depend on why flushing but even then can't image the opv vents much if doing it orally as well.
