So where are you planning to travel for diving in 2013?

Clare

Retired - going diving
Inspire me.

We're off to Dom Rep in a few days and Grenada in May but have the rest of the year to plan. Caves or ocean.

I wouldn't say I'm bored with Florida or Mexico but have been to both so many times I'm looking for a change. Malta is not on my list and I'm too concerned about baggage issues to go to Egypt (I'm not interested in having my gear stolen or having to pay a bribe to get it home).

So where in the world can I go - and where are you off to?

In October, I've got my first Scapa trip since 2008 (and my first with a CCR). It's with Smudge and the Portland crowd so should be a hoot.

I've also got another trip planned for Malin, this time with Paul Toomer, the Baron and the living legend that is Peter McCamley. Hoping for a better time than the disaster we had on this year's trip where we sadly lost Crispin Brake.

Most of all, I'm hoping for some decent weather. Thanks to the vile conditions this year, I only managed 11 UK sea dives. My worst yet since resuming diving in 2002 after a long break.

Off to Chuk (Truk) with Rod M and a few friends from down under after speaking at Oztek in March. This is the big bank account drain for next year, otherwise hopefully we'll get the weather window to get out to the numerous undived shipwrecks we do every year and have the marks to off here in NE Scotland (anyone fancy booking a RIB diving charter out of Stonehaven Home). No doubt a couple of Scapa visits will creep into the programme (very convenient if you live near Aberdeen and so can easily catch the ferry to Orkney), oh and I'm searching hard for an excuse to go back and dabble in a few Floridian black holes with my friends at Wakulla Dive Centre ;-) Other than that no doubt numerous military and civilian CCR course to run here in the UK and abroad. In fact off the S Korea next week for client so that will be kicking off my diving year. Rgds Paul

In Egypt now for three weeks currently with Orca in Safaga,
Sri Lanka in June to do HMS Hermes, Malin Head in Sept, Scapa in Nov interspersed with Eyemouth gas week and hopeful a dive or three with Rod n Paul. Oh and our regular club trips to West Coast of Scotland.

March: Chuuk Lagoon
May: Ordinskaya Cave, Russia
May/June: Caves @ Lot, France
August: Plura & Litjoga caves, Norway
September/October: Caves @ Thailand

Chuuk is first time for me so really :rocker:

No diving again in 2013 but lots of driving :big:

Hoping to visit a few new places that'll keep the interest in diving in the Plymouth area, as well as a few of the regular 'tech' dive sites that remain popular

Unfortunately nowhere for me :cussing: unless i can get dived up quickly then maybe sneak away someone towards the end of the year maybe Malta or something.

But the wife is off to Egypt for the last two weeks in March to do her MoD1/ART course with Orca, Safagha.

So if the viz is crap blame her

Cheers
Matt

Off to Divefest in Hurghada in may for a week, need to get some trimix dives in before then, so probably some work up dives at Dotty.
Other than that, it'll be on spec as work will be mental next year:(

Florida in April (not caves, just the ocean) a week diving at the Medes islands in May (I won it on a raffle and its likely to be on OC), hopefully some UK diving during the summer (if it comes this year) and an OC trip to the Bahamas in September.
I want to do MOD2 but with all our travelling I can't see it done in Egypt :(. So back to the rEvo HQ and to the Lake District ;)

March: Oztek (probably no diving but should be goood)
May/June: Innerspace then UK
September: Reunion
November: Coral Sea

I'm going to try to get a few weekends in Mt Gambier towards the end of the year as well

Thanks,
Robert

Wreck diving

Hi

We have a number of high profile wreck diving trips running between May and September this year in the following locations Malacca Strait, South China Sea, and The Gulf of Thailand.
We will dive some of the best wrecks in the world along the way including the following;
HMS Repulse and POW.
HIJMS Haguro 200mtr long Japanese heavy cruiser, sitting upright in 60mtrs
USS Lagarto, intact US submarine sitting upright in 80mtrs, discovered in 2005 by Jamie Macleod.
IJN Hatsutaka, Japanese minelayer responsible for the sinking of the USS Lagarto, sunk 12 days later by the USS Hawksbill, sitting in 30mtrs.
IJN Shigure, Japanese destroyer in 55mtrs.
Plus many more WW2 japanese Maru's, and many marks yet to check out.

PM me for further details and a schedule

Kind Regards

Stuey
