OPV Servicing

Hi guys,

On the boat last Sunday, I pulled the cord on my OPV and it came off in my hand. Looks like the knot came undone. Now I can't seem to open the OPV. Has anyone got a tip or a tool that could help me out with this? It seems to be done up pretty tight.

Try soaking in some warm water or just take a large dose of MTFU and put some effort into it :big:

The MTFU ain't going so well. I'm soaking it in hot water and using kitchen grips for extra traction. Not budging yet...

Booyah. MTFU success. Kitchen grips and hot water. Sandwiched the OPV between the two kitchen grips with it laying on the bench and then leaned into it and turned it.

Neoprene dive gloves work really well for those jobs, drysuit valves end up shredding skin if you're not careful....

This was where i was looking for

Yesterday i pulled the cord en nothing , another pull and i was looking at the cord in my hand...unscrewing was easy ... except that the wrong part came of the lung.

Just wondering where the OPV valve is located at the JJ? Down at the counterlung? If so how does it work at ascend?

nothing different using my kidney opv from my wing ascending, horizontal trimmed :)
but i do not use it except for diluent-flush. for ascending just orally release air from loop
