One Finnish rebreather diver died at Font Estramar, France 10.6.2017

BC AND drysuit. I dont think drysuit will inflate fast enough to make any difference, and even BC might only slow down just alittle. But then I'm already overweighted by 8 pds to cover both bailout tanks going empty. Man, my butthole shrivels up even thinking about this happening.
 
Hitting bc inflator and drysuit, then cutting Loos the Dpv then going up fast and hitting bc and drysuit again......at those depths ?? I think whatever you do at those depths your chances are very very small
 
That's really good point, if you inflate suit and bc, once cut loose, the big buoyancy change, you might get a runaway trip to the surface

I'm not saying that it wouldn't be a VERY stressful/difficult situation to deal with when a DPV implodes, but a runaway ascent to the surface from 200+ meters depth would be very low on my list of things to be concerned about! Just saying! :)
 
Likely true, but given that I doubt wing and drysuit would barely slow you down, plus occupy both hands, that time would be better spent cutting the DPV line.

From the comfort of our respective current situations, I would agree... However, in the middle of a rather stressful moment, I cannot say how I would manage the perceived threat of a runaway ascent, after compensating for an imploded scooter....

Just my two cents
