New Life For The Dolphin

My Dolphin has sat under the bench for a couple of years gathering dust. I had sold off PPO2 meters, V4Tec tank mounts, Techme cell holder. Basically had loop, scrubber, lungs V4Tec backplate adapter and shell which I never got around to putting on ebay. All in all it seemed less effort to put it back into service than sell the bits. I never really liked the large cell holders stuck on the hose ends and extension on other side to balance it up . I decided to have one tall column entering exhale lung which contained ADV ,three cell holder and O2 inlet. This was not a departure from how I ran unit when I first closed it several years ago. I just incorporated the cell holder. PPO2 metering is now going to be by my Predator or Petrel. Next I made a set of adapters to screw onto one of my Golem BOV's and use the Drager DSV flapper valves. I had a spare set of Northern Diver mounts so fitted them and I have same mounting system on all my units. Wing ,backplate tanks regs and needle valve just swap from GAF just have to fit fisher cable and "IT'S BACK".Looking forward to getting acquainted again.

Dolphin Mod

I now believe I have the Dolphin to a great little mccr unit.I was not happy with the cell holder so I have designed a unit which I think gives you best use of the bag mount. I machined a mounting ring which fits into bag in place of pport . It is not as tall as the original Drager dosage unit that sat there so no problems with bag extension. I have removed the tanks from the sides and fitted the O2 cylinder back in its original position. BOV ADV and BC inflate run via a manifold to a QC6 from off board gas. A very nice unit to dive.

Chris, since you installed the ADV where the OPV used to go, what do you use for an OPV now?
