New G-Box website

Hi everyone.

I'm truly very sorry for the delays. My father was suddenly taken very ill abroad and subsequently died after emergency surgery. The repatriation and administration of his remains and then subsequent UK burial has taken up a lot of my time and emotional energy.

I had thought I had sent an email to everyone awaiting their G-Boxes, I didn't have my list with me at the time and so I trawled through my emails whilst abroad - I'm sorry if some slipped through the net. I have tried to answer everyone who has emailed me within a few days. I have just returned from a 6 day holiday that I previously had to rebook because of this and also getting my Mum back to her house in Spain.

Demand has been much higher than anticipated but the current situation is that the ABS lids are ready, the stands and lift handles are going through their final stages of deburring and cleaning and the aluminium boxes are due back any day from the anodisers. All other cambands, cylinder covers, nuts, bolts, spacers, anodes, boxes and packaging materials are here waiting to get everything packaged up and away. I have had a few delays with the carbon covers as the covers I first received were not up to my standards and I have changed to an alternative composites company. They should be with me very soon now too.

Best wishes

Graham

Thanks Mate. I sent my condolences via PM when I heard some weeks back. Probably right when you were abroad and dealing with the logistical nightmare.

Just got your message. We await the boxes with anticipation and hands wringing. :)

Can't wait til mine arrives, any problems setting it up?

Nope, not really. As it is not really made for the MkVI there are a few things though.

1. To be able to get the routing of the hose to the BOV, you need to disconnect the BOV. It is too big to pass through the hole.
2. If you are routing the hoses through one of the side holes, the Extreme 1:st stages will need to be connected after the routing is done. If you use the holes in the bottom, there is no issue.

This only relates to putting the MkVI in it.

Thanks for putting up your photos Jeppe - your Poseidon now looks very sleek in it's new clothes !

ABS lid orders are now shipping and the carbon lids should be here very soon, just need trimming and the stud bonding in and then they'll be away.

My wife is very pleased that she will be getting a room back in the house for a while - (until the next batch arrives !! :ignore: )

All but one of the ABS lid boxes have been dispatched (he's on hols) and judging by the lovely emails everyone is bowled over by the G-Box in the flesh !

Just waiting on the carbon lids at the mo, everything else is ready and packed to go. Hopefully something very soon and the mega-glam G-Boxes will be winging their way to dive tarts the world over ! We're now looking towards the next batch - demand has been even greater than anticipated so I'm trying very hard to get ahead of myself and get stock in so that I can process orders as they arrive. No-one likes to wait and I am trying very hard to address that. Its always a balancing act though as I don't want to be surrounded by costly stock . Whilst the G-Box is a professional bit of kit, it's not my profession - I'm working hard making them in my spare time.

Incidentally there's a new G-Box Facebook page www.facebook.com/gboxccr where I'll be posting relevant stuff and owners can also post their pictures and vids. Be sure to give us a like if social media is your thing :) :)

Cheers

Graham

Can you use the original wing and harness? I've got the bmcl's, would I need to get the kent tooling stainless back plate? The g-box looks awesome and I've been given the green light to get one, just hope they are still/soon available?

Yes, no problem using the original wing and harness. In fact, if you used a backplate, you would have curved metal to flat metal contact unless you put some kind of soft pack in-between them.

If you have an Evo, you might find your hoses too short, with an inspo, all the hoses will likely fit.

Cheers Chris for info, I have an inspo vision so should be an easy swap over. Just waiting to be contacted back from g-box so I can put an order in.

apparently the Gbox comes with a speshul stand for an evo!

Has anyone heard from graham? It's been a few weeks since I lodged an interest about getting a g-box and I've heard nothing. Is he ok? Or just on an extended holiday/expedition? Are they worth the wait? They look great and seem to be the answer for the inspo.
