My unit build

Shop? It's in the front room now. :-P And I really should tidy my bench.
I've got a pile of swagelok valves and BCD inflators on my settee, just trying to find an M16x1.25 tap to make the MAVs... awkward bloody beaver using the one size I ain't got!

Reliability of software modification of calibration... I keep thinking about it, in fact I'm seeing it in my sleep... and I keep coming back to thinking that the digipots are the right way not the easy way. Just using trimpots and a port plug would however be a lot cheaper than 3 piezo switches, but that isn't the point :)

I think I might sell a kidney for an aurora blue BOV...

Scrubber outer, starting to look a bit more unit-y. Need to do the inner screen and fix it all together eek!

Code for PPO2 monitor is slowly driving me barmy.

Nice work. How did it go?

The scrubber? There are some pics of it earlier in thread. It should fit a meg too if I ever get rich ;)

I've just bought a bunch of 12mm piezos from RS Components - I think they were a buck each or less. And I'm finding I get a decent swing into the CRO of about +/-200mV when pushing on a piece of 5mm ABS with the piezo just hot melt glued to the back of it.

No holes for controls is all kinds of appealing.

And being able to calibrate via software kinda appeals. Although I'm still not far enough into my own to understand why bother: why not just go a much higher res ADC and do the calibration in software?

You just attach them like that? Wouldn't more than one button cause cross talk? I was going to use piezo buttons rather than elements, they've proven reliable with the dive lights... just an O ring and some thread sealant backup. The attraction is you never have to disturb the joint once it's sealed.

What are your intentions with it?

Early, early days yet - haven't tried multiples, good point and good thinking. Probably need a little strain relief in the case but expect this could be stamped with the tactile cue (ie "hey, user, button area is here!" ring on the outside).

Main project for now is replacing the guts of my Shearwater HUD which has one channel fried with a PPO2 monitor and temp stick for my classic. But I'm not rushing it, figure it'll probably make its way into my rig over the next year or so.
