Anyone using JJ dil MAV?
For easyer flush or for outboard diluent?
Or for changing diluent?
Mine is not with dil MAV but considering to order new JJ and dil MAV too.
Yes, ADV is really easy to reach, no problem.
I need the way to change diluent and add offboard diluent.
Maybe the best way is via dil MAV?
Just like oxygen MAV - to use offboard oxygen
You don't need to order a new JJ to get the Dil MAV, you can order that as an uppgrade part.![]()
You can add off board diluent through the O2 MAV. Just disconnect the 02 lp hose and plug in the diluent. It will not fire the ADV this way though.I have LP hose on all my bail outs for this reason. Can run the unit SCR this way. I don´t see a need for a diluent MAV.
Yes, but I need a new JJ anyway. This is decided. But this dil MAV?
I am thinking about if have dil MAV, can connect outboard diluent and even change diluent from high grade He to lower grade He. Then also change dil in controller.
The other question is if the diluent change in ascent (deeper than 80m dives) is adequate?
Like changing diluent from 80+m deep dives at the depth of ca 35-25m to lower He containing diluent and higher O2.
Yes, sure. It is possible. But not sure controller will give me then real deco in SCR mode.
I generally think 65+m deep dives.
I too have all bailouts with LP hose. Really useful.
why would you wish to switch dil?
What if it were a cave dive?
Having the ability to switch dil (or plug in off board) is crucial to some dive plans. If you think I want to use 85 meter gas I've needed on the way to a protracted 6 meter swim at max penetration whilst still a good three hours in you're having a laugh.
Remember, it's good to understand that not all diving is the same and people may do things differently from you because in their environment it is the best choice.
A gas/switch block would make sense for cave.
*grins*. Which is why we have ours set up with one. I agree in the MAV but wanted to point out that "never" is a relative term
Happy new year all.
I've seen some shots of Richard's new set up which I like very much although I'm a little uncertain about having four cylinders for every dive. It is very clean though and well thought out. Would really like to see a breakdown and explanation on here (I saw it on Facebook)
