Are the new ISC TOSCL available yet to the masses?

Anyone dived them yet with the new ADV, if so can you post a report here please?

Anyone know the cost of these?

Regards,

David.

I dove a set with prototype ADV a while back, and then a few months later with one that i think was likely the finished product.... I really liked how they breathed :) I don't know if they are available yet. You can see the white prototype ADV in this video, it worked very well.

^^^ That.

Bear in mind that the full sized CL's also effectively only have one MAV, and that diluent is manually added via pushing down the ADV. The "second" manual add is really a "third" one for offboard gas, etc.

I should be going and spending a week at the factory in the next month-ish, checking out on the new rigs and socializing. I'll score a pair of the lungs and see what options are available. I would be surprised if the old ADV could not be fitted.

OK, let me rephrase :

it seems the new one has only one MAV (apart from the ADV that can also be used as a MAV).

The old (longer) counter-lung has two MAVs (apart from the ADV that can also be used as a MAV) .
I consider the additional MAV very useful (if not mandatory) for big / long dives as you can plug in a 2nd Oxygen tank or an additional diluent.

^^^

Easy to add to any sort of rig if you know how. Several different ways to accomplish it.

Let me play with a set of the lungs and I can figure out the cleanest way. It's a thing I will want to add for myself as well.

Me thinks the smug look maybe as much because of the huge pile of loot!

Do report back as to how they work as many of us are interested.

The TOS CLs are a direct replacement for either the Meg or Pathfinder and at this time come with a Vacuum ADV because the Meg ADV needs too much negative pressure to fire with the TOS CLs. ISC are working on a modified Meg ADV to work with the TOS CLs but it's not ready yet.

Every Meg diver who has tried my TOS CLs absolutely loves them and this time Leon has got it right. They breathe every bit as well as the OTS CLs, free up the frontal area, and burp off expanding loop volume upon ascent after bailing out automatically where the bottom of the exhale CL needed to be unclipped so it could float up with the OTS CLs.

The first batch quickly sold out and ISC are out of stock again. The next batch are quickly selling out also so if you want a set you'd better put your name down or you'll miss out!!

Retail pricing is $900.00US

Lance

This is from a post I put on a different chain:

OK so I was able to borrow some of the ISC TOS CL from the local Meg instructor and took them out for a dive weekend where I ended up doing 4 dives with them with max depth of 190 with a run times around 70-100min. My overall impression so far is that for me, they are trying to solve a problem which I believe does not exist (for me). They are very easy to set up and they do free up a bit of the chest area however they are also wider and thicker to allow for the lung volume to be close to the standard CL. This larger size makes them fit closer to my ears and I found that the CL rub against my hood which is a bit annoying. As well I think the WOB is harder than the standard CL, however this may just be a set up or T Piece position issue. I was able to use the standard plunger style ADV which worked as well as it does in the standard CL so I did not have to use the rather large ADV that come with the TOS CL. The manual add valve for the O2 was also difficult for me to reach as it is placed higher on your chest to allow for the short CL length which I did not like at all because I run a HCCR in manual mode so I am using the add button regularly throughout the dive. For me I will be sticking with the standard lungs as I am quite happy with them and used to where everything is. I am glad I was able to borrow a set before I bought them (thanks Dave T).

Hi when you say that "The manual add valve for the O2 was also difficult for me to reach " would this cus you may have it to far back ?
I have not used these yet in fact I only saw these recently at here at OZ-teck for what I saw I was impressed as Lance said looks to be a improvement over front counter lungs, little bit concern with the size of the Vacuum ADV tho.

Hey Tony, Leon is working a modified Meg ADV to replace the vacuum ADV for the TOS CLs which will be no bigger than what you're already used to. The vacuum ADV works very well and you can trim the adjusting screw to find the sweet spot you like. It is big but it doesn't get in the way and is easy to use.

I'd say if it was difficult to reach the O2 MAV then the CLs were most likely not fitted and snugged down properly. They need to be fitted right up as high on the harness as possible and strapped down tightly. That seems to put them right where you need them.

Lance
