How do you stay inspired as a technical diver? What makes you want to learn/explore/research/dive something new?

I love reading/watching/hearing about other people's new exploration projects. It always gets me excited about my own projects and ambitions. I also love to hear about the nitty gritty of the planning process and how they deal with the logistics of difficult or unusual sites or targets.

Odd as this may sound, by occasionally going out on the commercial dive boats, with OC divers... and spending the day talking about CCR diving (but, hopefully, not in an egotistical way). It just reinforces that we get to do something rather special every time we get in the water.

By diving reefs and places (occasional wreck) that no one has ever dived before (or rarely ever dived), the possibility of discovering new species and taking video and photos documenting what we find to share. Here is an example that got a bit of media attention in my state:

That’s a very cool video! Definitely, inspirational!

Thanks, for sharing

Great that you found that inspiring, we have now found black coral fans approaching 2m tall on that reef, we never imagined they could get so big. here is a video of a more recent dive featuring the large black corals.
