Hi,I'm concidering a drager Nova R. :-)What's your preffered setup ? Do you use a dsv and a reg side port as BOV or do you have a BOV instead of the DSV.I've noticed some with BOV AND side reg also.Any other ffm i need to consider (better then the nova ?, I already dive a KM 48 MOD1)

Anyone selling One ? :roll eyes:

I've been using my FFM with a Golem BOV and Apexs 50 side reg for 1 yr now wouldn't want it any other way , works a treat.

Thanks , just got mine :)
Planning to attach it with the side ported reg plugged into the 3l dill and the BOV offboard. Or would I plug both ofboard ?

No! But already changed my mind, maybe it's better to keep side reg on BO. So revo and BO independent off each other.
How did you set up the Nova before? A little bird once told me you also played with the nova on a Revo ;)

side plug offboard OC with gas breathable from bottom to surface
so never used it for dives needing hypoxic bail out gas
 
I don't have a Nova but I've used AGA and Guardian. When I was thinking about the Nova, I thought I understood it and I don't see why it couldn't be used for hypoxic dil. The Nova uses a bite piece in their CCR version and does not have an oral nasal cup. So the BOV plugs in to the center port with the bite piece and is connected to a normoxic mix. The deep mix can be connected to a p-ported second stage in the side. By plugging the bite piece with your tongue and breathing through your nose, aren't you breathing the deep mix while you bail out and ascend? Then when you are shallow enough, you flip the BOV and mouth breathe a richer mix. I guess the only question I have is what happens to exhaled gas when you are nose breathing. The potential for CO2 buildup is the major factor that has to be addressed.

Thinking about this, if you were really stressed, how well can you breathe through your nose?
 
My idea was to just use The side reg to equalize pressure, maybe some "sanity breaths" , ad dill on the way down....
Use the BOV for BO.
When a hypoxic BO is needed I would connect the with y connector or small Gasblock and turn the one not needed off.

Just thinking, no actual set up yet.
