External monitoring with rechargeable battery box

Hey all-

I'm curious if anyone has come up with a solution for adding (say) a Shearwater on a unit with the rechargeable batteries. According to the website, the narked 4 cell holder specifically doesn't work with that setup.

Thoughts?
 
well, it's a pretty snug fit, but I managed to fit an old Narked 4th cell adapter into my head with the rechargeable batteries. You do have to mount the battery just a fraction higher than standard, but so far no problems.

What do you mean by "mount the battery just a fraction higher"...

I assume it works fine with 3 cells?

I'm not in a position to pull my unit apart for photos right now, so I'll try to clarify. the battery is held in place on the cell holder by a small screw that passes through the cell holder into the battery.
when I first tried to assemble the head with the N90 cell holder in place, I couldn't get the rechargeable battery to sit down in place properly. something was obstructing it at the base, where the cell holder passes through the head. fortunately my battery had a second mounting screw hole slightly ( a few mm ) lower than the original. using this mounting point had the effect of lifting the battery the little bit necessary to clear the obstruction without preventing the gas diffuser from being screwed down.
All the cell holes are available though I just use the three and T off for the NERD cable. It's all a bit cosy, but it is working fine.

FYI the holder now fits the rechargeable battery.
