Exposure protection for Truk

I'm seriously contemplating taking my 5mil with hood and work gloves. Full rash guard underneath and have the zipper open on the shallow stuff.

If I had some warm water experience, I'd have something to go by. I might be cold with 3mm and rashguard, I might be too hot with a 5mm. Dunno

I dive most all summer in the Bahamas and it can get into the high 80s. After a few hours you get cold.
I would suggest 3mm with removable hood. So you can rip it off at deco if you get hot. 1.5mm gloves if absolutely necessary.
I wear full Kevlar akona gloves and my hands never get cold. Even after 6-7 hours in the water.

Im a huge cold water wimp. I couldn't imagine wearing a 5mm

I used a 5mm 4th Element full suit in Truk, and it was more or less spot on. No hood or gloves necessary because of temperature at least...

Thats the decision I decided to go with after talking to some folks about the rashguard idea.

I'm going to bring a 3mm full hood, maybe a 3mm beanie as well, and gloves. Can always take that stuff off.
