Driving After Diving

Hi

I am planing some deeper dives this year and have been investigating what to do when driving home from the destination after days of +100m dives.

I found this cool website that calculates elevation on a route between two destinations:

No No No, you are on your last stop at 0m and it's the long half time tissues you are worried about. Deco for sealevel + trip to altitude = high chance of bend

I don't have numbers but I would be surprised if the pressure drop at 2500' is equivalent to ascending even 3m and when you consider how long its gonna take you to drive to that altitude it becomes insignificant pressure change

Some of us have no choice but to fly home the evening after diving ..... got away with it a few times .... not looking forwards to the time when I don't.
 
I suppose it depends on what you call altitude. After a discussion on a local forum it was suggested that driving the quick route home from a shore diving site which went over the hills was dangerous. If I recall it was about 300m alt. I wrote some code to model it, you needed to have done a pretty extreme dive to get close to trouble.

I remember a day cave diving in the Jura mountains. We did 5 dives ranging from 10m to 60m, bt from 60 to 120 min and altitude changes from 450m up to 1350m and down again. It almost got addictive to see how far we could push the numbers... I slept that night :)
