Wanted drager gag strap

Thanks Baz, but i've tried something similar in my earlier days of ccr, but found that letting go of the loop meant water went in the mouth, the drager one kind of seals, so i'm giving that a go. Tried a ffm and didnt like it (didnt like the bailout implications/complexity), so this is the last option I guess. Kind of removing options from the list I guess.
Or just continue on as I have been diving (half mask and normal loop) and hope I dont take an 02 hit.

You have the same risk with a Draeger Mouthpiece to be honest- why are you going to "take an O2 hit" run the possible causes and you'll see its not a likelihood, yes- IF it happens its F-ing bad but so are CO2 incidents and loop floods- how common are they?

I have a draeger mouthpiece, its ok, it keeps your lips warm but I'm not sure its a huge safety benefit, although the French Navy figures suggest otherwise (perhaps biased due to use of O2 units in military scenarios)


I would like to try a FFM but the entry price is very high, the complexity doesn't bother me (compared to diving a CCR!) and the bailout seems largely the same?

In this you are quite incorrect. Suggest you look into it a bit more before you buy.

Just maybe before you fork out on a Drager one you would like to drop in and try a APD one out the front of the shop .... a cheap and very good option !

The APD strap is a Very different beast to the Draeger one, as different as the Draeger one is to a FFM I would suggest!

Cheaper- Oh Hell Yes, Comparable... No
