Buying a classic

Hello,

I am looking to buy a classic and upgrade it for my course in a few months, the classic is the old double handset, no HUD. It passes all tests, O2 cells in date, Holds +/- pressure.

Im thinking of buying it and sending to AP for the 2020 upgrade, with new scrubber, temp stick, vision controllers.

Any idea of costings? The classic pics doesnt show MAVs or pressure gauges

I'm fairly certain the classic is not upgradeable to vision or to vision 2020. I think long ago (circa 2006-2007ish?), when the vision electronics first came out, you could get a classic head refitted with vision electronics, but that option has been gone for at least a decade. You can always try contacting AP, as they've always been super helpful and there might be a hidden option to do what you're asking.

A few years ago AP declared the classic as end of life. No support, no repairs, no parts. I'm honestly not sure if anyone even still certifies them.

As far as I know, most people get a classic for cheap, dive it until the handsets die, and then either replace with an AV1 to control the solenoid or rip everything out and just use a kiss or needle valve and something on a fischer cable to monitor.
