Battery usage during dives?

Hello,

What is your experience about the battery usage of the LSS module during your dives? Did you notice a difference whether the LSS module was stored outside the rebreather or installed? I noticed a quite high battery draining. E.g. LSS fully charged - 2 dives (60% left) - after 6 days not in use the capacity went down to 15%. I'm aware that the LSS is like a dive computer never completely switched off, but to loose such a lot of battery capacity within such a short time seems a bit strange to me?

Yes indeed. The Sentinel has a similar aproach. I charge 1x, make 6 dives of 50' in 2 months and still have 60% battery capacity... Contact your dealer. Please report here. Thanks, Patrick.

If you store the LSS inside the unit setup or outside but with the sensor module in place it will drain the batt as it is always monitoring the sensors. Best is to store it separately and still aim to charge the LSS prior to any diving.

When the LSS is stored outside without the sensor module in place, I still loose around 10% of the battery capacity each day. Which is in my eyes a very high battery draining for something which is not really in use. When I do 2 dives per day I don't charge it, but when the time allows it I charge it prior each dive. I should get an answer from Hollis as well - I will post it as soon as I get it.
 
You might need to call Hollis there is a known battery issue. Mine got so bad that it would go from 100% to 0% 20 mins into a dive.
 
one more thing, didn't see this post earlier, take the stick out and pull the sensors and wipe them, then put put sensors back and leave the stick out . Put the LSS on the unit and charge while stick is out. Take a rubber band and a ziplock bag and attach the ziplock on the charging cable and put the black charge port cap in the bag.

I am talking about the bottom, these sensors are microjack style and they will corrode if not wiped off. Sorry if I was not clear.
 
I just got my rebreather back from Hollis two of the three batteries were bad. On a side note this week I will be diving in gulf hope get some trend data to post po2 and the like.
