AV1 dive computer, an?

Hi,

A company that on some forums, or perhaps all forums, are unmentionable added a new dive computer to their web shop a while ago.
Russian design, it seems: http://av-uwt.com/?lang=en

I can't find much information at all and the little I found is only from parties with commercial interest in it. Anyone on here with any information, preferably first hand experience, of the AV1 dive computer?

Good news for all the Spanish speakers.

In a couple of days there will be in the website of the AV1 computer, the manual translated to Spanish.

Any body got one ?
The problem for me is that it is sold in Spain though a Spearfishing oriented company and in the UK through OSE and ...well...Apoc...:) :)

Hello Jale:

I think that is a good computer for a good price as you say and this is because i've bought one and i've take the work of translate the manual into Spanish.

About the dealer in Spain, i think it is a mistake. Jordi, the owner of Lifeline Esports, is one of the best extrem cave diver, one of the more active RB divers in Spain and i't not a spearfischer man at all.

Yes I have an AV1, monitoring 3 cells via NA90 pod on my Apoc.
Its a nice simple system, everything you would expect, good clear display and compact.
If I had a negative its the screen, which without a protective cover on marks quite easily, otherwise a competivly priced alternative to a shearwater.
 
I'm very interested in this. Does anyone know what it would cost for one of these and the controller? I want to buy a blank head for it.
 
I'm interested, Alexey reply quickly for all the technical information , but i couldn't have a price for the different version.
And it's cool if they could do an AV1F with hud but without the controller.
 
very similar to the beautifully designed DeepPursuit... Hold on wasnt it Red haired Scott's boat rocking that pushed Narked Gents to stop manufacturing their beauty????
 
looks a lot like a deep pursuit copy. wonder if they bothered getting it CE marked?

so here we are with a deep pursuit copy and a copy of DT's lungs on the forum. both being made by people profiting from copying others innovative designs and not being hamstrung by the mindless and petty EU rules that we seem to abide by and nobody else does. sigh
 
And being sold by a group that made it a ball ache for the originators to sell it in the first place.

Anyone else got any experience of these - I would welcome comments - I'm not sure the copying bit holds up here - it's about time more manufacturers got in on the act - dive computers have been around for a while...... I think this is an independent company - I may be wrong but, I don't believe OSEL have sole distribution rights .... Unless something is patent protected commercially ideas are likely to be evolved.

Anyway - specifically does anyone have more information on their HUD, controller details and the computer, both on availability, reliability/ support/ any issues. There is definitely a gap in the market for a sub £1000, HUD and computer combo. It opens up lots of retrofit possibilities.
 
I tried to contact OSEL asking for them to ring me regards the AV1, Email reply was we are only able to correspond by emails. Didn't fill me with confidence should any issues ever arise.
 
They also have the price jacked up at OSEL, so I'd prefer to go direct where the prices were much better, also, The guy seems quite responsive.
 
my 2p - The chap has been on the market "5mins" would i trust him with my life? I am not sure.

This set up could be very very good and work very very well. But now I have a Deep Pursuit I would strongly recommend anybody who is looking to upgrade a classic to either hold for a Deep Pursuit. Stick a HUD on your current classic run by narked cells and you will upgrade your classic easy. that said if the AV1 electronics can be bought for less than a SW HUD I would be tempted myself. however I'd wait to see how they behave and sort any teething problems.
