Apocalypse Rebreather

Speaking of the Apocalypse...

What I want to know, is when I get my iCCR, should I do deep stops on my solo dives or not?

Earth-explodes.jpg

Because some people just want to watch the world burn

id say stick it out till March , then on bang 16 weeks and take the twin scrubber out for a splash , lol

mark can i ask this test dive , is it on a apox sent from DL to you , or is it more a test of a m8,s modified unit ,

Just to clarifie the situation:

Brad put me on to Alex & I was going to buy a BOV from Alex for my JJ

Alex (on Brads advice I belive but check with Brad) offered me a discount on the price of the BOV on the understanding i would write a detailed report on my findings. I had to pay up front for the BOV and he made no sugestion I had to write a positive report nor that he had any need to see / edit the report before i published.

I can only ask you to trust me that if id found the BOV to be crap id have said so. Which i would. However dispite my well publicised dislike for Alex Dias and his marketing methods I would equaly have writen a glowing report if it was deserving of it.

However none of that matters now because the APOC bov only flows right to left and this would meen messing with my JJs left to right loop layout and i decided against that.

So the deal is off but out of the blue a modified 02 APOC CCR owner offered to let me do a strip down rebuild and dive on his unit.

Alex or Brad have had (to the best of my knowladge) absolutly nothing to do with this offer.

By the by. Alex said he needed to produce 50 left to right flow BOV to make the deel worth while for conversion taking into consideration tooling costs.

I am baffeled as to why he dosent do this because if the BOV is as good as he reckons, surely it will sell like hot cakes but theres a very limited market for a right left flow.

Have him send one to me. I will try it on an SF-2. Then flow will be correct.

Hi Mark,

50 BOV's is a lot and its a lot of money to tie up in inventory given the current state of the civilian dive business now considering the fact that the economy will deteriorate over the next 4 years Alex made the financially responsible call.

How many people are manufacturing BOV's? Most BOV's are made to order and most companies that did that aren't around anymore.

How many companies are manufacturing BOV's to sell to the general public regardless of what unit they own/dive?

Golem and Apoc? I think everyone else wants you to dive there unit to buy parts? is that correct?

I've always assumed they did it to keep the plumbing simple having started with a Richest Right, Leanest Left policy for the tanks...
aurora is left to right but i did it for hose routing , all o2 injection points are before the scrubber so in exhale side, all dil is injected after the scrubber so inhale side including wing on left side , dil mav etc , to keep hose routing simple all dil hoses which are blue colour are conected to the dil tank side and o2 black colour to oxygen tank side . . all dil left all o2 right .no criscrossing of hoses behind the unit which would have happened if i had flow right to left. i considered this to be a small safety advantage .since left right or right left makes no difference in any other respect.except BOVs and DSVs of course .unless someone tells me its a lower wob if the gas turns left instead of right :flip:

Well, you never know what will happen once it's in the Southern Hemisphere. Probably best you send one down for testing :)

Jakarta barely qualifies as Southern Hemisphere. He'll need to send it somewhere further south for serious testing.... Somewhere like Hobart, Tasmania for instance.. hint hint.
