Ambient Pressure Diving Inspiration Vision and Classic Teardown

Good effort. I've always been surprised that no-one has done a proper teardown of the Inspo/APD units particularly with them being around so long.

Thanks!

Matt.

I've seen plenty assembled but never poked round one close up, seeing the guts of one is quite interesting. I've been toying with getting a cheap old classic so I've been hunting about for teardowns and there just doesn't seem to be any. Been very useful to see inside.

Thanks to Garspeed I'd able to add a picture for both the Mk1 Mixing Chamber and Mk1 Solenoid. I've also added a picture of the Classic lid.

I think the idea is to make all the tear-downs Article items...but I've no idea of how or when!

I'll ask in the other thread.

Matt.

I'll do it now you are happy. Give me a couple of hours though - doing it in an iPhone would be a pita

Thanks guys.

A non trained friend wanted to buy a inspo on Ebay without even knowing anything about ccr or looking at it. Your post was more than helpful. He's now speaking to an instructor.

Very helpfull, and a job well done and very helpfull
I have one comment though

The colour scheme on the gas flow path had me baffled for a moment.
Red indicates danger (for me) and blue is OK.
The exhale gas is blue and the scrubbed inhale gas is red....

I had to think around that for a second.

Maybe alternative colours? Red for exhale and green for inhale?
Or brown for exhale and Green / blue for inhale?

Thanks for the feedback - red is supposed to represent the arterial blood (oxygenated) and the blue the venous. At least it made you think :-)

Matt, do you need pictures of any parts? I have stripped my unit into molecules so if you need anything I can do it now.

Maybe do a "how to do" loop hose connections, LP hose connections?

I have both the old loop connections and the new one with stripes.

Thanks to Erik I am planning a major new addition to the article. Here's the first draft which I will add to the article after some comments.

[Now Integrated into the main article]

Here's the latest instalment.

Cylinder Valve Teardown

Cylinders and valves should be service by professionals - this section is only intended to show the parts.
