Using dpv and reel at same time.

curious as to how people use scooter and reel simultaneously with good effect,
I imagine pathfinder style reels are easier to lay line with whilst placing wraps etc, but curious as to what’s the effective method for the return whilst using both effectively at speed.

Cheers in advance.

I don't believe winding reels while scootering to be possible... You need 2 hands to wind, and one to scooter....

Paying line out is easy and we do it regularly in cave country. Get off the trigger if you have to wrap, but in caves like JB, Ginnie, etc. that are high flow it's much easier to lay line while scootering than trying to kick

Yeah , that’s basically what I’m thinking, if your somewhere seldom dived (if ever) I’m right in saying you’d line Whilst the journey away from entry, and when you’ve had enough tie off and chop the line and just follow it back? And just re load the reel so to speak. ?

if you are laying lines that will stay in, i.e. relining an area or exploring virgin cave, then you cut it off and follow it back. If you are laying a primary line in a cave, wreck, etc. then you scooter in while laying, then kick on the way out. Those are typically short runs though

It’s easy to deploy and and wind in on a scooter - just takes practise,

Winding in - you scooter back and use the drag of water to maintain tension on the line and then stop and retrieve the loop. It’s much easier to be shown and very efficient with practise
