Read thru the manual, and am generally impressed. Only concern is to what extent "any alteration" would void the warranty.
In other words, am I prohibited from adding a needle to the O2 side to dive this as an hCCR, with the controller as a parachute?
Whether or not the warranty would be voided by adding an O2 needle valve would depend on the method by which you are installing the needle valve. More than likely it would not void the warranty unless you had to damage the unit in some way in order to install the needle valve.
so it's permanent physical modifications? I.e. drilling a hole in the head?
are the electronics modular similar to the Meg15 and Liberty or does the head have to be sent in for any repair to the DiveCAN itself? One of the huge advantages to those two units now is that nothing is "semi-permanent" in the head so if you fry a computer module, you can pop a new one in without sending it back to the factory. Not a lot of in-depth pictures of the insides of that unitCorrect. Additionally, any modification which causes the unit to flood or other malfunction, would not be covered by warranty. Obviously, opening up the electronics for example, would void the warranty.

bummer. Next gen hopefullyThere is a circuit board which is sealed inside the head. If that circuit board required repair or replacement, it would need to go back to an authorized service center.
