GF settings

Most people struggle to hit their Low GF number as they cannot ascend fast enough. My view would be that as long as you do the additional shallow deco this causes then there are no issues. The risk with running tables is that unless you hit every stop exactly at the right time then there is a good chance you are quite a way behind but won't do the additional shallow deco a computer would generate.

Would be more interesting if you add what dill you normally use!
I use 10/90
On the following
Down to 60m 18/45 gas
Down to 110m 10/70 gas

I'm not super fussy when it comes to dil - provided there's enough helium. Yay for rebreathers :)
Taking a quick look at my computer, I can see 63m on 13/49, 132m on 6/78, 64m on ... 8/75...

45/75 or 45/70 usually (unless trying to match a Suunto's timings, when it is 70/85 or something weird I think).

I have progressed slowly to 70/85

I use air, 21/35 18/45 15/65 and 10/70 dills from 6m -100m

This is because I have banked Js of premix in all of the above, a boosterand a compressor

I am 52 Ocasional smoker regular drinker average fitness and 16 stone 5' 10 (or just fat if you like)

I ran 30/95 for years and switched to higher GF lows and lower GF highes whern the deep stops reserch came out

Doing a lot less deco now and still feeling OK post dive.

The low GF numbers refer to stop depths not ascent rates?

Granted many get the ascent rates wrong I personaly strugle to hit 9m/min unless i have a shot line to grab incase it all goes wrong

WIth a SMB and reel I am down to about 7m/min average

90/95 for air diving.
50/70 for gas diving.

May move to 70/75 for the gas diving.

Matt.

If you're only doing 5m per min then you could set the ascent rate in your program to 5m per min?

I took a quick look at 40 mins 80m, 15/85:

10m/min first stop 48m, last stop 81 mins, total-time 210 mins.
5m/min first stop 54m, last stop 86 mins, total-time 225 mins.

Both ends of the dive affected by a slow-ascent rate.

Matt.

Quite so.

I remember in my early adventures with a VR3 starting my ascent with 120mins TTS and ending up doing 140????

That could be a bit of an arse clencher on OC

I later found out it was my ascent rate screwing up the profile.

I was never convinced that those 2 minute stops were accounted for in the initial TTS either.

I find it interesting people are still clinging on to deep stops with helium but no so with air?

I thaught the recent study found little advantage / disadvantage between the two in terms of off gassing
