Nice work Jon. That is slick! I see your selling your rEvo. Are you going to move to twin SK's? Do you find the positioning window and wob reasonable from a user standpoint? If you were doing open ocean long deco dives do you think you stick with a back mounted primary breather and a single sm bo breather?
I read in a post by Peter S. saying they have abandoned sm breathers for their Pit exploration and are sticking with oc bo and working on a habitat. As a more recently emerging configuration do you see the nuances of managing the bo units to be nearing that of of traditional breathers? Or to put it another way would you still be using this set up if you weren't squeazing through tight restrictions?

You have asked a lot of good questions so here goes:
1) I'm selling ONE of my REVO's, I have several, I will NEVER give up on a REVO, I've had more success with that unit then any other, In my opinion its the best available today,the REVO was designed for function not fashion and it does its job very well.
2) No twin breathers for me or BO breathers, in my opinion the tech just isn't there yet.
3) SM breathers are a tool and a slippery slope, lots of things change when you SM a breather, WOB, Hydro loading, scrubber condition and weaknesses etc. I would NEVER recommend an SM breather for a first time breather diver, if you don't NEED the SM configuration then stick with back mount breathers with OC bailout, again bailout breathers are not for me.
4) I have no idea what Peter S. is doing but whatever it is I wish him and his team health, wealth, safety, success and the best of everything, I've been around habitats but never used them but I've only had 8 hours of deco to date, I enjoy being in the water and with my new UWLD heated vest controller I'm good for 12 hours.....soon to be 20 (shameless plug) but in all fairness I don't really understand the necessity, I'm a grunt, tell me what to do and I'll get it done, the science etc. is beyond me, Its really that simple to me.
5) If a team decides to abandon SM breathers I have no negative comment, they are a fickle mistress, perhaps thats the smart move, I don't know, what I can tell you is when I swam in Ginnie with a SM breather as part of a class I'm finishing up (Technical Cave Supervisor) we never left the first 1200 feet of the cave. I thoroughly enjoyed those dives because I never really understood how much i missed "scootering" by, since then I've done two more solo dives in just the first 1500 feet and feel embarrassed because of how much I missed, the point is I'm a NEWBIE with SM breathers and I'm enjoying the fresh start, but I just can't tell you if my way of thinking or configuring my SM breather is any good, a few people with more experience them me with SM breathers say I'm wrong........I would take there advise over mine any day.
