Smart Ready Bluetooth
The key new features of the Petrel 2 include Smart Ready Bluetooth, for communication with iOS devices such as the iPad and iPhone, and a three-axis, tilt-compensated, digital compass.
In addition to current Shearwater and third party support for Mac and PC desktop applications, users will now be able to download dives using their iPad/iPod in conjunction with third party applications. An application created by More Mobile is available now.
Using the most advanced compass technology, Shearwater offers a new level of convenience to Petrel 2 users as they no longer need to carry a separate compass while diving. The compass can be disabled for those who prefer not to use it.

Shearwater will be presenting the Petrel 2 at the DEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada (November 19-22) in booth #1139. The Chinese Language version firmware for the Petrel allows users to display all text in Chinese.
