From JJ to rEvo

we had about four or five of the very early units fitted with the wrong orings which made the lid hard to remove. new orings were offered and the problem was solved, it does not exist anymore. unless you never bothered to change your orings of course!!

Odd, I had to lever a JJ head out with a broom handle because someone couldn't pull the head a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn't one of four or five very early units.

How about providing specs on those head o-rings in case someone doesn't want a whole o-ring kit.

The only time I've had an issue with the head was because i hadn't lubricated the o-rings. And it was the same, had to use a lever to remove and was scared I'd actually break the webbing strap. Now always relube the o-rings and push down before removing head. Haven't had an issue since.

I believe these are listed in the in ccr manual or course manual, can't remember which one at the moment.

Just push the JJ head down slightly and you will feel a tiny bit of movement, pull up slightly, push down slightly again, press button in ,and pull, head comes out as easy as anything. Our units are early 2011( pre CE ) and always done this with no bother at all EVER!. If you try to pull straight out without the push pull, it ain't gonna happen.....ohh and make sure the o rings are well lubed!

I don't believe you know what your talking about. But happy you seem to have one of the only JJs where you can remove the head easily.

I can remove my JJ head easily, so can the other three JJ divers I dive with regularly.

I've only ever seen one stick, he had a really early model, far before CE.

You're making yourself sound like an idiot now.

Hi Nick,

I stand by my quote, more than happy with what I have stated about my JJ and the JJs that I have seen over the past 3 years, but seems you are now having to revert to name calling, i doubt you would be saying this if we were standing face to face......

cheers
Andrew

Yet when other owners with the opposite POV dare state their opinion:

If you kept on saying what you're saying despite the overwhelming opinion to the contrary, I would definitely say that to your face. Or are you implying that you're big and scary, therefore I'd bottle-out?

Yeah that's true but the o-rings were dryer than a camels buttcrack and the inside of the can was caked in soot from Windwards exhaust ...

A quick clean and lube and the head is coming out as smooth as Sean O'Connery drinking a 60yr old malt .....

She did live in PNG for a while, maybe that's the reason

That's what happens when a girl asks a non-JJ diver to help. She should have asked me ;)

Might steal that.

FWIW, I've never had trouble with my 2009 JJ even with the old o-rings. The only person that failed miserably was Bailey and he's got smaller hands that Aileen. Must be why he thinks his 28" TV is a 40". He overestimates the size of other things too ;)

I found her alone on the back deck stood on the bench astride her unit with a strained look on her face and was going to make some smart arse comment. however as she looked like she was having a distinct sense of humour failure I gallantly offered to help and kept my smart arse comments to myself.

I didn't call for a JJ expert as I doubted that anyone less gentlemanly than I could have resisted the opportunity to advise her to always keep her ring lubed in future..

Glad you're enjoying the rEvo. From what I've seen they are very nice units. The RMS system seems very handy and the scrubber design is great. You shouldn't have any more head removal troubles.

Though if that was really causing you that much trouble...is CCR for you? :p
