Hey all hope everyone is well. I am just curious to learn how easy is it to set up a sentinal for diving, and also how complicated is it to use?
Is this a troll? I hope not. If not, should turn into an interesting thread.
Don`t own a Sentinel and have never dive one, but think you have to do the pre dive check`s like on all rebreathers (more or less depends on the unit) and then dive, like on all the other rebreathers...........
I don't find the Sentinel any more difficult to set up, prep and do pre-dive procedures on than any other CCR Unit. IMHO, those who complain about the tedious nature of the Sentinel, are more than likely to skip the procedures that they should be doing anyway on their other non-Sentinel units. In other words, the Sentinel will not allow you to take short cuts. Some people don't like that fact, and move on to other units that allow them to bypass important safety protocols that should be followed for virtually all CCR units. I see the required pre-dive steps of the Sentinel as a positive thing.
New wireless HP upgrade?
Is this a VR upgrade? I mean, I just got my head back from them a few weeks ago, had the new O2 module, OLED primary upgrade, new HUDs, the works. They didn't say anything about replacing the optical HP senders. Where are the receivers located?
sorry for the unusual question I'm new to all these rebreathers, I've had a go on a sentinel and really enjoyed it.
New wireless HP upgrade?
The new HP transmitters directly replace the optocon sensors.
They're supplied by VR with miflex HP hoses, a long one for the Dil side, so that you can place the transmitter on the O2 side of the box.
I assume the wireless receiver is located where the FO cables used to connect to the head.
Argh! Okay, thanks for the info. I assume VR needs the head to do this. Dare I ask the cost...?
The Sentinel is (in my opinion) a great bit of kit, however it gets a hell of a lot of negative comments on the forums...
