My O2 is still M26.

If I'm traveling outside of the EU and will be using hired cylinders I can convert my O2 to Din 5/8.

However, the last time I was in Eygpt, the boat had M26 and G5/8 cylinders for me ('cos they didn't ask me what I needed).

Mine has M26 on O2, my O2 cylinders are a combo of both M26 & 5/8 I have adaptors to go both ways if needed.

I like the idea of having a dif reg as it prevents me putting the dil on the wrong side if not thinking!

I think the Ce requirement was laxed as new units are sold with both 5/8 valves.

By the way - no such thing as M25 valves, the size relates to the valve screwing into the cylinder not reg fitting.

+1. Think going that way and up road using adapter. Getting rid of the Poseidon stages maybe later if they need repair. Then I replace trough Apeks as Poseidon is far to expensive.
 
If changing reg brands make sure that what ever will cope with the IP of the Pos BOV if using. The regs themselves get very little use so general need little maintenance. I had full service on my unit at VR inc regs & BOV for ***163;300 ish (needed some parts so actually ***163;450).

I wouldn't bother swapping unless you have a real need.

And coming from me who dislikes Poseidon regs!

Hi, but I have definitely seen several Apeks units with both 5/8 on in the UK (where bought) also APD's which clearly can't comment on?

Can you therefore buy it non CE?

Do post the Poseidons here. I much prefer my old Poseidons to the somewhat disposable Apeks.

I made a couple of strip downs to get the feeling for the unit.

I think I will do a try dive in pool as soon as I get the O2 adapter. Just wondering: when putting scrubber inside the unit there should be a audible "schlonk" so to speak. So far I heared nothing, but maybe it's because the scrubber was not filled with sorb yet?

Have you been pressing the scrubber down into the base clips before putting the whole thing together into the main canister? The clunk is normally the clips letting go and firing the scrubber up into the seal and cone !!

I know this seems basic and you have other units but you haven't done the crossover training yet have you ?

cross over not yet, will be done in october. Just want to gamble the unit.
After reflections, I will wait until the crossover to dive the unit. So far the Boris runs great.

A quick question about calibration.
On the pre dive sequence there is no need to check the calibration, unlikely than Boris where you need to flush the loop 4x with O2 to see if the sensors are showing 99% O2 (and how fast each one react). I understand that the Sentinel calibrates himself when changing the sensors, but I want to know if this is enough? Or you guys flush the loop with O2 sometimes?

I suggest flushing. This way you have a calibration on air and a confirmation on oxygen. It is a bit of a linearity test (should not take place of checkng your cells up above their setpoints) but it will at least alert you to a drastic cell issue.

If you didn't get one when you got the unit I'd really recommend downloading the manual from vr technology's site , there are lots of downloads and tutorials for all the questions you've been asking and it's from the horses mouth so to speak ,,, have you still not done the cross over yet ?

I have read the manual more than 3 times... Just want some feedback of users hence the thread here.
Made a check dive last WE and I was impressed by the WOB , which is really good for BMCL, close to Boris. Trim excellent, just need more lead than with Ouroboros. All in all a confortable unit to dive, the BOV is a little bit big, it troubles the view down the chest.
