Alternatives for SPG mounting

Has anyone figured out alternative options for mounting the SPGs when diving with inverted tanks (like original, valves down), without needing the 100cm HP hoses and looping on the wing?

I normally dive with de-inverted tanks and use standard 60cm HP hoses, clipping of the SPGs to my left hip d-ring and an extra small d-ring on my light canister. But if I ever were to use inverted tanks again for some reason, I'd still prefer to use another wing than the original JJ, and I would like an easier and more accessible option for the SPGs. Any ideas here? (And yes, I am aware of the button SPG option, but that's not what I'm looking for... )

I have also de inverted with al40s or steel 7s depending on exposure prptection. My spgs run over the shoulder and I use a little piece of bungee ( samr style as i use to hold my backup light on thr harness)reeved around the D ring on each side to hold them in place..
Inverted.. They just come from underheath to the same spot

Yeah, I can see that would be one way to do it. But I don't want my SPGs for the O2/Dil tanks on my chest, mainly because I don't need them very often, and hence would like them out of the way most of the time. Also, having multiple SPGs in that area (when carrying stages) could potentially be a problem in a stressed situation.

I'm thinking about perhaps using shorter HP hoses and a small bungee on the center hole of the backplate on each side, looping them through there and clipping of as usual. But I don't see a way to avoid the loops all together... Will need to experiment I guess.

I know you don't want them over your shoulder, but listen to my setup please. I have one over each shoulder and they are just barely long enough to read them. I have to actually bend them up and really strain to see them. They are bungeed to the harness very high up and completely out of the way of anything else. they are above my chest d-rings. I never even know they are there unless I actually want to look at them.

Perhaps the simplest way to stow your SPGs using a different wing is to copy the wing attachment points Jan has developed. Simple, elegant.

I know you say 'no very often' as far as needing to read tour SPG... so how often is that? I now that with years of a KISS and button gauges, I needed to read my SPGs on a dive exactly - zero times...

Just a thought. If you don't like sewing, then just ditch the SPGs altogether.

imo, if you're practising drills on a regular basis, then SPG's are a must

Mine go up, through the wing (I cut and burned two small holes in the codura) at shoulder level and down again, clipping off on light canister and waist as normal.

Behind the wing my hoses are zip tied together in the frame channels. Keeps them tight, in place and free from stress.

SPG's- take 'em off and stow them in a tool box, can't cause trouble from there ;-)

FWIW Andy's suggestion is pretty resonable, just "emulate" Jan's wing mounts, very easy to do.

I've had been using these from Kent tooling which worked out quite nicely, I've now gone over to button gauges to I'll be selling these on!
