Anyone bought something new and want to show us all about it?

Just arrived... verdict so far, looks great on the coffee table, give me an hour an I shall have it rigged up, hopefully will get to try it out at weekend...

Well, it passed the living room floor test, i.e. it works at sea level +5M

If the gods of wind are kind I shall test it at 30M on Saturday.

Impressions so far;

It is well constructed, light and the bayonet fittings make kitting up a bit easier but if you take advantage of this then +/- tests should be redone 'in kit' This will be an advantage when I am diving it off a RIB...

It is a little heavy on the feed side so sits at a slight angle, I am hoping this self corrects when in the water...

I dive one on my meg, you can offset the drop by twisting the loop on the dropped side, there's enough resistance in the bayonet o-rings to put a pre loaded anti twist to counter act the weight of the LPH.

Meg feed to the BOV is on the left so loop drops that side, twisting the loop clockwise (towards me) helps 'lift' the dropped side.

I may talk boll*cks but it works for me, try it.............:cuckoo:

On the descent you can use the BOV to add dil by going OC then breath it back in the loop on CC, leaving the ADV shut.

You will need to adjust the cracking resistance at depth to personal preference the 1st time you dive it at depth.

QC bayonet fittings great for cleaning/ storing the loop, also you can break the loop for ease of kitting up if you can be arsed to do a pos /neg loop test after assy again... I cant be arsed, once pre-checks done why break the inegrity of the loop, seen others do this though.:smackbum:

Bought one originaly as I was diving a Manta Lung with no ADV, diving back on FMCL but wouldnt be without it.

David.

How about some shots of the difference between your old DSV and the Shrimp. Things like bore size/flapper valves, control lever etc

If you unscrew the ring on the second stage, and remove the membrane, you can get a good look at the internals

I've just been and picked up my new primary computer.

Looking forward to plumbing it in to my inspo tomorrow and diving it on sat.

Come on, I'm sure oyu can spare an hour or so for a few pics and a quick write up on how it works, what you like, what you dont etc..

Oh I will, once I have had a few goes on it so I can give you a considered view rather than a first dive perspective...

I can tell you what they are like...Have one on my Sentinel; 100x better than the Sentinel BOV, very comfortable in the mouth, switches between oc and cc very easily(unlike the ap bov!) and there is no noticeable difference in breathing.

Hows that?
