Board help required - all units.

Clare

Retired - going diving
Hi - I've been thinking about the newbie stuff and reading some of a recent thread talking about unit choices.

One thing I realise is that I simply have no idea about units other than that which I dive. I wonder if I could get a few people to agree to do a library article about their production unit (as standard) to help explain the ins and outs (literally I think). If this could be as a tear don with photos that would be fantastic.

Any offers?

JJ - come one someone volunteer.....
Revo
Meg
MK15
etc... etc... etc....

If you put your name down, you don;t have to do it tomorrow but it is a pledge to write up a good one to be put as a sticky in the relevant forum.

Thanks for your help.

I'll do the Meg.

I can do a bunch of them, and having ownership of a collection for technical study gives me a fair advantage, as it's not just a matter of writing up the "one rig" I own and dive.

I can do from inventory here the Mark-15, rEvo, Meg, Kiss, Sport Kiss, Inspiration Classic, as well as a bunch of eclectic things that we really ought to ignore for this due to unavailability, like the APOC and Cis Mk-5P... which I can do if it's just for interest sake.

So what do you want? rEvo and Meg would be the first two I would propose, being one of the first rEvo Instructors in the world and a recent attendee at the factory to become a Meg technician.

I'll do the UT-240 and Camelion.

Cool... unless we finally conclude business on the UT-240

Then I can do the FGT-1D, DC-55, IDA-59, IDA-64, IDA-71, IDA-72, AKA-60, LAR-V, Avon CDBA, Draeger Norge, PO-68, Azimuth, and C-96 too.. ... just to get warmed up before dragging out the rare stuff..... :devilban:

My JJ isn't quite stock anymore, but no serious changes (deinverted tanks, swapped wing/harness/1.stages), but if that's acceptable I'll do one on it :) I have all the original parts, so I could probably rebuild it if wanted.

Fantastic.

Matt - inspo (still need variants)
Heather - meg
Opheim - jj
Dive the world - UT-240 and Camelion.

Dave, can you wait see what/who we don't get offers on and pick one of those up? It would be nice to get loads of people involved and build up a great library.

Revo?
Hollis?
Poseidon?
Sentinel?
Rb80?
Kiss?

Don't get too hung up on the stock comment. It was more if the only thing left of the original is the head it won't be representative of the genre. If you want to take part but have modified I guess it's a good way of setting out why.

Please do! Any luck finding the manual? You made mention of it at some point in the past when we met somewhere, said you had it on a different computer. I'd love to know more about this unit than what I've already learned from the teardown at tmishop.com.

And the VR ones, Boris and Sentinal, and also the Hammerhead. I'm quite interested in reading these.

Might be worth mentioning the loom, as for an inexperienced buyer that is always commented as a thing to check.

Also pressure guages and buzzer, scrubber o-rings and spacer.

Is is worth mentioning the more common extras and mods, so BOV or 4th/5th cell holder beanie?

I think that's all that springs to mind.

Thanks, added to list!

I'll do the KISS classic and sport if you want (they're my units)
Its easy for me, I'll just copy and post the manuals :-D

Well I could do the rEvo from the recently taught student's perspective and get Dave to correct the finer details :). It's a stock unit, the only mod is the nice deepoutdoor hip D-rings to aid stage mounting. Just cleaned it after yesterday's dive so still in bits an will need to change the Shearwater battery so could cover that as well :)
I have to warn you, it will take some time to write it up with work and stuff.

Excellent guys. Really appreciate you all volunteering. I'll pull together a list if I ever get in front of a desktop.
