Looking for Carbon Fibre T-Bone Backplate

Howdy All Diving in a 3mm suit, my unit is fundamentally negative - I even took off the stand to shed some weight. So looking at replacing my 2kg PLDT SS plate with a similar shaped carbon alternative Any idea where I could source one? Rich

Arístides Bécares Rivera, a 56-year-old Spanish resident, has died while diving the wreck of the Neretva. The wreck lies in 55m of water off the coast of Ribadesella. At 9am the group of six divers, began the dive, which was planned to last for an hour. The other 5 divers returned to the...

    Accident on the Doria

I've had my wing go full on inflate, due to the button sticking, even quickly removing the hose (just like we are taught all those years ago in OW classes), wasn't enough to stop me hitting the surface (lucky only in 10m or so of water). So can truly believe this could of been the cause :(

    CCR Fatality in Cyprus

Having known Martin and dived with him, this is truly sad news for me. He was very fit and an active diver, so cannot see any fitness issues related causing this. I've never seen, dived or enquired about the Pathfinder, so would be interested to know: 1. Does it have water activation /...

How many DCS events go unreported?

I remember been sat on a plane on the way back from a trip in the Red Sea, with severe joint pain (this almost 1.5 day after diving), but I just ignored it and tried to get some sleep... i really was tempted to get a flight attendant and the oxygen kit as it was bad. No lasting effects.

    Rob Stewart missing

Only this passed weekend, a diver got in trouble in the UK and had to be airlifted to hospital (no idea on which CCR) and it appears that he was using a retaining strap - and that saved his life and he is on the mend (thankfully). First time I've heard of one actually resulting in saving someone.

Where to buy Rebreathers Simplified and CCR Trimix Simplified

Don't bother. I have a copy of the Trimix Simplified. Maybe was worth it a few years ago. But the training manuals of the main agencies are a lot better than when this booklet got released. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are we the last group to dive the Repulse?

I was on the trip too :) Alas they are indeed in international waters - but still within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Malaysia (within 200 miles) and for some reason they really want to enforce those rules... Can't see anyone getting permits, so think the diving there is out of bounds -...

Hate to think of the gas cost ;)

Plan the dive, dive the plan... Oh no, lets not... its even worse that he didn't get to 350m. As stated previously, industry has been there and done that years ago. Sorry, its all a bunch of willy waving. .... now we have to wait for another showman to reach 350m or worse die.

    Alternative mouthpice options

I've tried a few (beaver comfy bite, the Jax type melt in water ones etc) - and I've always returned (sadly) to the AP one - it opens your mouth much wider and has a bigger front skirt (around the gums) than the others. I wish seacure would make one that fits the AP mouthpiece.

    Should I be wary?

Yeah, perhaps the broken English is also not helping. What I would do? 1. Setup a eBay 'buy it now' auction and tell them to use that - you and the buyer are then covered. (yes it will costs 3-4%) 2. Send only via UPS/DHL/Fedex - need signature at the other end 3. Only send to verified postal...
