    Non-diving book recommendations?

I have been reading a few books lately (it might surprise some of you to know that I can actually read... ha ha ha) and I constantly find myself thinking of how I can apply whatever the book is about to my diving, either personal or instructing. I shared a bit at TEKDiveUSA.2018, but the most...

When did you begin rebreather diving?

I was going through some old dive logs the other night and came across what I believe is my first ever rebreather dive! I thought it would be fun to see if anyone else had their original rebreather dive logged and could share with us. It is always fun to look back and reminisce! Date: August...

I will tell you one reason it is ESSENTIAL (for some divers at least) to have the option of a lower setpoint.... because I regularly dive (and TEACH!) at high enough altitudes that a .7 is very difficult, if not impossible to maintain at the surface.

SubGravity makes it pretty simple by promoting (in person, in our user manuals, online etc) that all prospective students and customers always check our website for the most up to date list of "Factory Approved" instructors. https://ccr.sub-gravity.com/training/ From our Defender CCR user...

cathal- You might actually be surprised how often this DOES happen (maybe not as often as it should though?). I (or SubGravity) cannot comment on the above incident, as I was not involved in any way, but cases where I have been involved, or at least privy to "inside information", the parties...

    bov hose

Mark Thought I would jump in here since I am on a posting frenzy at the moment :) I am no math wiz, but a quick google search shows some formulas which might over our heads, but essentially come out to: If the diameter of the tube is halved the flow through it reduces to one sixteenth. Length...

    bov hose

Just wanted to point out a few sections from the DAN article you posted: "However, it would be foolish to assume that this deterioration is limited to external 'braided' hoses. In the past, our hoses comprised a rubber inner hose, then a single braid layer for reinforcement, and finally a...

O-ring size for HH OTS MAV?

HH o-rings are metric, using mm to designate the inner diameter and cross section measurements.

    Transport

You actually have been using the iM2875. Both the Defender CCR and the X-CCR (because of the removable cables) fit well in the smaller (and lighter!) iM2750. This case allows me to easy pack it under the 70 lb limit, and it is nice and full so things are not shifting around. I can fit...

    I went diving this weekend!

Was out in Cave Country for the NSS-CDS workshop and demo day. Other than the demo day I got a few fun dives in: saw some new (to me) areas of Ginnie, and hit Gator Hole which I had never done. It's always fun to see something new! Everyone had a great time at the demo day trying out our...

Human Factors in Diving - with Gareth Lock

After a great weekend at TEKDiveUSA.2016, I was able to attend a 2 day "Human Factors in Diving" course with Gareth Lock. I have had quite a few requests for feedback after completing the course, so I thought I would write it up once and post it here for all to read. I am tired after a long week...
