    Our set up - JJ-CCR

Sorry. We got a little girl - Annabella Elizabeth - Bella for short. She looked remarkably good for someone who had done a nine month surface supply dive. :)

Project complete for those interested with arrival of baby Pooley. Now I look forward to getting fit again and getting back in the water. Not returning to CCR though so bowing out of CCRX. Dive safe people.

What SAC-rate are you planning for from bailout to first stop?

We do 9 meters per minute on ascent (as Janos and Richie will testify having caught both of them out with it on a couple of different occasions). It just takes practice. You have to accept that you feel like you lose control and know you can get it back on schedule. I tend to keep...

    Our set up - JJ-CCR

I'm getting questions off board as to why I am selling the units and what the new project is. The new project is a 'baby pooley' so whilst they may be on nine months surface supply, it is not diving related ;)

Actually taking a break from diving for a while. When we return might do something different. I'd still buy a JJ for the dives we were doing and the set up worked well without change throughout.

Well 2 actually. CE version but with BOV. Backplate and harness and wing never dived. Canister not engraved. With 3 litre cylinders (out of test) spares, cells which have been in the unit four months plus spares (not new). Carry crate included. If interested can supply the switch...

    Another Chasey near miss :D

Glad you are OK. It's the main reason we opted for a system where we could plug into the BOV.

Two spaces available this weekend Plymouth

Cheers Chris. On the mend now (happened last Thursday) but rocking boat and dive gear a step too far I think.

Two spaces available this weekend Plymouth

Al and I can't make diving with top gun this weekend as I slipped a disk last week and still not recovered. Our spaces are available on a boat taking right in the 65 meter range - marks to be decided based in conditions. Top skipper, good boat and great conditions forecast so gutted can't do...

You've dived with Bill Maine too then Stuart? ;) he's like a rat through a drainpipe.

Makes sense to stow long hose under rather than over loop. More comfortable for a lot of reasons. You have to come off for seconds to fully deploy. I agree it is not ideal but it works and when practiced regularly it is reasonably quick and smooth. It's about as much faff as having a drink...

    Our set up - JJ-CCR

The longhose is merely a regulator which accesses whatever is plugged in via the switchblock. So dil or O2 are available (possible to plug inboard as well as off board O2 in although this requires an additional verification step) That means if loop is compromised perhaps through mouthpiece...

Sorry if i haven't been clear. Everything bar wing inflate is fed from off board. Donation is al la RB80 - ie you come off loop to donate. It has it's critics but in an RB team there is no reason for a donation from long hose to be urgent. It is more something you see coming.

We don't just cave dive. It is no more an issue on a shot line than switching from a travel gas when OC - less in fact. The way you describe works for sure - but I'm anxious to only have breathable gas plugged in at all times. I've seen to many incidents in the shallows (both at the...

    Ccr cave diving

I have the luxury of a lot of dives in Florida, Mexico, France and elsewhere. CCR is still in a huge minority in cave diving - as it is in diving as a whole. For deep caves it is a tool of choice (although some of the deepest caves I've dived (Wakulla, Turner, River sinks, Indian etc) I have...
