Ok so one source maybe dubious. But I repair drysuits as a profession so see a few. Apeks low profile dumps have more problems than either high profile Apeks or the SiTech dumps. This is opinion based on quite a bit of observation across many different divers.

I believe they have now moved to BDM/YKK for the plastic zip. A far better product than the TiZip.

I only have one strong opinion on any of this. If you want a dump valve that will be reliable go with the apeks high profile. I'm not saying any of the others are crap, just that in my experience the HP Apeks is the most reliable. Not an enormous difference in profile either.

I saw this doco last week here in Wellington NZ. Very well made and does a great job of expressing the humanity of those involved. The sort of friends we can all hope for.

I would agree that the Apeks inflator is better than the Sitech and that the high profile Apeks dump is rock solid. But the low profile Apeks is a POS imho, just so prone to leaking. I'd much prefer to have the Sitech dump than the LP Apeks.

Pull hard enough and the thin plastic retaining clips (or whatever they are) break off, as designed.
