Is CCRX of any true value?

The idea that most divers are looking at test results before they purchase Rebreathers is a Farse. Most divers are looking at the experiences of others diving them which can add a whole new level of subjectivity. My big point was that WOB and scrubber time are the least of any concern about...

Is CCRX of any true value?

Brad, I mention "my opinion" twice in my post to ensure everyone knew that it was not based on fact however doesn't mean it isn't true. That's the beauty of the world. There is so much going on that its rather difficult to establish worldwide fact. Are you saying a standardized test done in...

A dive at Madison Blue 11.9.14

First dive at Madison. Not exactly great videography but a start. Will continue to think about how to make this a little better, and what lights/tray etc i'll need. I enjoy the video part though… If I could dive every day I wouldn't be doing this for sure though. :-)...

New HammerHead CCR configuration on display at DEMA 2014

I think you have something here. I couldn't agree more! Diving a hammerhead CCR is workless breathing!!! I think that just gave me an idea.. How bout a sticker that says "work less, dive more!" Garth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is CCRX of any true value?

Here's my opinion... Even standardized testing can be biased depending on where said standardized test is completed and how. Thank god we don't require CE testing in the US! Bunch of overpriced horse shit if you ask me.. especially for Rebreathers that are designed and manufactured well...

New HammerHead CCR configuration on display at DEMA 2014

Interesting concept presented earlier in this thread... I want to make sure I understand this right After thousands of hours of manned rebreather dives one would suggest going back to unmanned tests. Weird. It would be interesting to find a single post about work of breathing on the HH ccr...

What is your backup deco plan? Computer vs table?

I'm interested to hear more about this. Every once and a while Andrew Pitkin responds to a thread and it peaks my interest. Not only would it be awesome to dive with you but also to discuss diving off the forum. I get a sense that I have no F'n idea about anything and would like to gain some...

    What size stages

I have 2 al80's now and 2 al40's. I was given the opportunity to buy a few more al80's or go on a week long trip to the MILL POND!!! easy choice. Will be down in February to dive some caves. I'm stoked!

New HammerHead CCR configuration on display at DEMA 2014

Well, ***8230;. I'm glad someone calibrated the thing because there is always someone poking fun about the calibration not being accurate. Thats a SEXY machine***8230;. sexy. If I was going to make love to a rebreather, the thing better be a Hammerhead! TMI? Garth

    Hello all RB divers

Please do. Maybe a video? I always wonder what I would like to do if someone is having a problem.. and removing the loop is not one of them. Handing off a bottle or reg which is secured on a tank seems like a way better option but I suppose having it under the neck would be fine if it was easily...

    Hello all RB divers

Thats weird. I always thought that we were metabolizing oxygen at pretty much the same rate throughout the dive regardless of depth. Are you using more oxygen at shallower depths for some other reason? Bumping up the PO2 on deco?

    Optima Training w/ Jon Bernot

The rebreather seems to add a bit to the cave environment. I enjoy it very much. Having trouble getting back to normal life...

    Hello all RB divers

ahhhhhhh***8230;.. have you dove this in high flow or current? I know I pretty much can pack on anything I want when i'm in the quarry but when it comes to offshore or the caves each addition brings and increase in workflow against said current. Thanks for your reply

    Optima Training w/ Jon Bernot

Great writeup! Can you go into more detail on how you felt about potentially becoming a cave diver? :-) I knew I wanted to dive caves even before I took my training in Fort White but AFTER my training i was determined that cave diving would be a certainty. I dove Blue Grotto, Troy, Ginnie...

    Addition of Golem Shrimp

I still use an omniswivel high flow QC to my diluent manifold. If for some reason I am out of diluent for one reason or another I can run all my diluent type stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Addition of Golem Shrimp

I'm not sure a complex procedure would work well with my comfort level when it comes to gas switches. Although I didn't know the diver who perished from failure to drop correct tank in the WKPP group I was moved by the description of the events leading up to the wrong gas, hyperoxic mix. I...

This stuck out to me in your post. "Loony private individuals." If anyone is planning on creating another dive forum they may as well go straight to it and name it what it is... Loony Private Individuals: Your source for diving entertainment... I think I am more of a loony private...
