    CCR Myth #21

CCR Myth #35 Myth #35 - Garth doesn't listen well. In reality Garth listens really well however requires a considerable amount of evidence, research, and data to acknowledge and/or support the cockamamie ideas of his dive buddy. Cheers, Garth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    CCR Myth #8

Get rid of oxygen MAVs placed in inhale counterlungs... would be my start. Should be no surprise if you have read my other posts on the issue and my concern for my dive buddy. He thinks I'm nuts. Garth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    CCR "Myths"

#4. Inadvertent human interaction. The above is priceless. Examples are Accidental oxygen flush or forgetting to adjust your setpoint/ changing to an unwanted setpoint. I've seen or heard about both situations. The one situation required a bailout and the other created a long deco for the...

Just like people remember where they were when the twin towers in NYC were attacked, I will always remember reading the post about the cell failure on Facebook then reading the post days later about the tragedy. I'm not joking. This case affected me. I think about it a lot particularly every...

CCR Cave Course - April 2015

Well, I'm jealous. It was a life changing experience. Cave diving on a CCR is incredible. It requires complete attention, discipline, and awareness. All three of which I am working on and will continue to work on every day. It applies to every facet of life. And the caves are magnificent...

    Nose / throat separation issues.....................

I've found myself working super hard fight the flow of the cave and noticed abnormally large amounts of nose venting that I had trouble controlling. I stopped and slowed down and it went away. Not sure if your body just goes into a kind of breathing habit to get the most amount of air out or if...

    toxing while on ffm/gag strap

The only time I let the loop over my head is when suiting up to look down easier. Bailout is with the loop under my reg and OPV wide open. As Michael said it would probably get caught and rip on something above the head which would totally suck. I guess it's user preference and unit specific...

You look and find the loop hypoxic....

My intent was not to be a troll so if I have done so I will no longer continue this discussion. I feel like there has been quite a few good posts on here and we have determined a few things. 1: there is variability amongst failure response to a hypoxic situation (some people bailout...

You look and find the loop hypoxic....

So the fastest way is the best. I'm not sure I buy that either. I guess I just don't agree with the design choice and find it more disturbing that so many are okay with it. The fact that more divers die from hypoxic situations than from hyperoxic is irrelevant when you consider that the better...

You look and find the loop hypoxic....

What I'm trying to say is that people die because there is a problem. Whether it be the diver, the ability for the diver to understand the cell issue or the divers ability to be situationally aware of the other malfunction in the rebreather. I believe that the type of rebreather is less...

You look and find the loop hypoxic....

I suppose I made the assumption that the weakest link in a rebreather is the cell technology. Am I wrong? Or should I say have I been mislead? Is there some other weakest link other than the diver himself? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You look and find the loop hypoxic....

I suppose if the diver dies shallow it's less likely for hyperoxic and although some may disagree I wonder if hypoxia is less likely in deeper water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You look and find the loop hypoxic....

Interesting paper. My favorite part or shall I say the part that intrigued me the most was the 56 divers who perished yet scant data was determined. The part I find troubling to comprehend is when one or more cells fail. How can someone sit there and say it was a "hypoxic" vs "hyperoxic"...

You look and find the loop hypoxic....

Great questions. First question has to do with both. When I started the thread I was thinking about the diver who has the oxygen in the inhale counterlung and how they handle cells that are reading low nearing Hypoxic loop ppO2. The question originated by hearing time and time again why the...

    CCRX Supporter - No T-Shirt?

It would be more beneficial for your overall outlook in life to just buy and dive a hammerhead CCR expedition RevC+ with Shearwater 2nd. Totally changes things. I'm concerned about your mental stability Ken and sooner or later you just have to... before its .. too late. Sent from my iPhone...

Wait for it... Yup, I'm not sure exactly what you think I would understand better with looking at ideal gas laws... I'm not saying the gas doesn't mix before you breath it I just don't quite understand why it was chosen for the design. Stuck open MAV would be an immediate imminent danger...
