Scuba Diving and Coronary Artery Disease (ADM Article)

You are, of course, addressing only those anecdotes that turned out to have substance. How many millions of fruitless lines of enquiry are pursued for every one that results in advancement?

Scuba Diving and Coronary Artery Disease (ADM Article)

The risk to those you are with at the time of the cardiac event is surely higher underwater than jogging. Your heart attack may precipitate injury to others. Greater risk surely means a higher level of screening is reasonable? If it's only anecdotal there will not be an answer to your question...

    rMS RCT question

Third paragraph, page five of: http://www.revo-rebreathers.com/uploads/rMS_and_how_to_use_the_scrubber_monitoring_system_soft_V44.pdf That should answer your question. In short the RMS will have tracked any usage of the second scrubber, so rotate it to the number 1 position and continue as...

    TiZip

Mine has now been replaced with a good old brass toothed zipper. Maybe TiZip will sort it out one day. Hope so.

    From KISS to rEvo

I've now ordered an RMS for my unit. Can't wait to get it! :agree: I'm off to Fiordland for a weeks diving soon. I only hope the RMS arrives with enough time for me to dive it thoroughly before the trip to get an idea of what the sorb usage will be. As it is very remote diving (chopper...

    Kaboom!!!!!

I don't think that was O2. More likely Acetylene was the main fuel there. But certainly impressive!

    Gopro 3+

Yeah I plan to get one of the Golem housings as soon as I can. Seen a couple of the 60M GoPro housings leak recently, both were less than 30m when they did.

Two Finnish divers died at Plura

Oh ok, well the answer will probably be that they apply a utilitarian calculus that determines the greater good to be arrived at by stopping the accident causing activity, at that site at least. The answer to why they might apply this to cave diving but not mountaineering might lie in the fact...

cleaning the out side of the bail out tanks

I have used paint stripper on several Ali tanks. Tergostrip brush on is what I use and it is approved for alloys such as those found in tanks.

Two Finnish divers died at Plura

I would imagine due to the "oughta sight" nature of the environment that the closure is put in place to protect evidence in what may be the scene of a crime. They do close motorways here when a serious crash has occurred so that the investigation can gather site info. It's what police do, they...

    Lets have your honest opinion

You should totally burn your keyboard. If you've had it more than few years the bacteria loading will be horrific and could present a serious health risk. ;0)

    Off with the BOV

Do you have a link to this data Alex? I'd be keen to see it. I only saw a brief mention of the shrimp WOB during Martin Parker's talk which was light on data.

    Off with the BOV

I'm getting one of the Golem DSVs as I think it is important to be able to eyeball the one way valves. I like the drager DSV for its minimalist simplicity and weight but really don't like the inability to see the valves without a screwdriver. Sure the suck blow test prior to putting the hoses...

Have you had a CO2 hit, or been near one? Do you know why it happened?

Really Chris? C'mon it's just a conversation, stick to playing the ball. No it was Peter who raised the design superiority, followed quickly by you adamant that cannister rotation presented some sort of added risk. Without anything to back up your assertion. I am far from put out by your...
