Hi There
I'm looking for advice on who to contact about trying to arrange getting to this wreck. http://www.wrecksite.eu/wreck.aspx?137747
My Great Grandfather was the Chief Stoker on board the HMS E8 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_E8 on October 23rd 1915 when they torpedoed the SMS Prince...

Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
The aim of the study was to observe the effects of dark chocolate on endothelial function after scuba diving.
METHODS:
Forty-two male scuba divers were divided into two groups: a control (n = 21) and a chocolate group (n = 21). They...
The day we stop arguing the rationale for accepting or rejecting configurations, procedures or equipment will be a dark day indeed.
As always the important/interesting thing is not what you think but how you think. Nobody has tried to argue based on aesthetics. ;0)
C'mon Mark, we need to resist this false dichotomy of believers and heretics.
I am not a "nay sayer". I am (like yourself) a thinking diver. I have (like yourself) put a lot of time into deciding whether or not to use a BOV. I am yet to hear a case for a BOV that doesn't also have drawbacks...
Well you do seem very confident that a BOV will get you "outta dodge" so to speak. Great, more power to you. Just make sure that with every "decrease in objective danger" you don't increase the riskiness of your behaviour. I've certainly been guilty of that. There's a bit of evidence that risk...
It equally baffles me that some are convinced that a BOV is such a benefit.
There we go, we're both baffled. I'm sure if we try we can achieve perplexed, puzzled, bemused and maybe even flummoxed.
When I had a classic I had a N@90 stand for it. I found the HUD box fitted well inside the handle area held on by a couple of zip ties.
So that's a similar setup to what you are considering and it worked well.
Instead of attaching something to the kidney why not use the attachment points your...
This is a subject that has been well discussed.
Just because an alarm isn't sounding doesn't mean things are ok.
Systems that encourage attentiveness seem, to me, a better idea than those offering a parachute.
How much risk am I willing to take?
I could never answer your question meaningfully. My willingness, or otherwise, to accept risk is wholly subservient to whatever narrative I may be operating under on the day.
What else is going on in my life? Did I get a good nights sleep?
Consciously or...
Well, get your lawyers and courts to stop treating every accident as a gold rush, and you'd probably see the price tumble.
In the meantime that risk has to be accounted for.
This thread has certainly developed a touch of new wood on the nose, ripe melony fruit, it's slightly exotic, stylish and very expressive but prone to run to vinegar if left open too long.
While I admit that I do like the occasional whine, I'm more of a boutique beer man myself.
I think the rebreather market in the US should have it's pricing strictly regulated by the government. And furthermore, the government should decide for you which rebreather you will have.
"From each according to their means, to each according to their ability"
Yeah.. that'd be...
I tried the Antares system but I couldn't get my hands through the rings! They may be low profile but perhaps a little too low profile for some.
I'm back to the QCP setup.
