    RBSM Fitting

Don't beat yourself up! Sometimes the problem is not where you expected it to be. Glad it's sorted now.

    RBSM Fitting

From my understanding of the AP strap, I'd say no as I believe it swivels. As mentioned I have the Drager strap & that is definitely angled, so fairly obvious which way it goes, but agree that the flange makes it difficult to get the zip tie secured.

    RBSM Fitting

Hey Matt, I'm not sure that you have diagnosed the source of the leak correctly since I had a very similar problem with the Drager strap. I had quite a wet breathe until I tightened down the zip tie that secures the mouthpiece to the loop. I believe the mouthpiece is just a fraction larger than...

Compact Travel Case for a JJ-CCR

Hi Bob,no head was not in. At the time I felt it would be safer in hand luggage. How would you go about fixing a deformed can? I discussed it with my instructor some time after the issue surfaced & was told there was no option except to replace it...

Compact Travel Case for a JJ-CCR

I agree with your thoughts & can't be positive that this is what happened. What I do know is that it was OK before the flight & not afterwards! No sign of damage to the case & the can itself looked pristine & not visibly oblong. The deformation must have been very slight, but significant enough...

Compact Travel Case for a JJ-CCR

A cautionary note from someone who paid the price for transporting a JJ in a hard shell Samsonite type case to Truk a few years ago. The can was ever so slightly deformed in transit & was 'out of round' with absolutely no obvious signs of damage to either the can or the case. After diving the...

MRS negative points? Why don't all users use it?

I use the Drager as well Nick & agree with your comments about comfort & venting gas. BTW it looks like the Drager is still for sale at Tecme at €99.00!

    Asthma

I'm asthmatic & have been diving CCR for a few years now without noticing any issues, however my asthma is not exercise induced. I'd be interested in hearing what the doc has to say.

JJ head cover on the cheap

The only problem I've had with the bowl is that it's not super stable, as the base is relatively narrow. Doesn't give me a high degree of confidence if it's on a table above a hard floor!

    JJ HUD rubber

Should have said for the HUD clamp of Dietmar's Shrimp BOV conversion. Turns out it's 16x2 NBR70 if anyone else looses one.

    JJ HUD rubber

Is this just a standard cylinder 12mm valve O-ring? Cleverly managed to loose mine yesterday. Seems a bit overly tight if it is...

    DiveCan HUD won't switch off

Second one for me too. After the most recent occurrence it's been fine though. Dived it again today and it was good as gold.

    DiveCan HUD won't switch off

I ended up disconnecting it from the head to save the battery at least. But fortunately it stayed off when I put it back on :)

    DiveCan HUD won't switch off

Anybody else experienced this? After diving today I can't get the damn thing to switch off. The LED's fade away as if its going to switch off, then it just bounces right back on again. It's been washed in fresh water & well dried but that hasn't helped.

I like your style sir, however I don't believe there is an off the shelf solution.

WTB - Tube Weights for JJ

Hey Mike, they are actually pretty easy to make for yourself. The biggest problem for me was generating enough heat to melt the lead. You can get copper or stainless tubing easy enough. Cut it to a suitable length, block one end & pour in the lead. Shrink wrap it to avoid any galvanic corrosion...

    Suit Inflation

Hey Cap, I'm not sure I'd be that keen to fill my suit with pure O2, wherever it came from!

    Suit Inflation

Hi Rob, what unit are you using? I've run a1ltr steel suit inflator since I started diving my JJ. It's a bit slimmer than the Ali 1.5ltr alternative & I can't say I notice it during the dive. Maybe on the surface it compresses the counter lung a bit, but it's not really an issue. There is plenty...
