When did you begin rebreather diving?

Winter 1993/4 try dive with Peter Ready, the father of the PRISM. Dived under a bridge on the upper reaches of the river Tamar on the Devon Cornwall border. Saw a couple of eels and a salmon on what was officially the coldest dive of my life. Needless to say, course of life/career changed...

External monitoring with rechargeable battery box

I'm not in a position to pull my unit apart for photos right now, so I'll try to clarify. the battery is held in place on the cell holder by a small screw that passes through the cell holder into the battery. when I first tried to assemble the head with the N90 cell holder in place, I couldn't...

External monitoring with rechargeable battery box

well, it's a pretty snug fit, but I managed to fit an old Narked 4th cell adapter into my head with the rechargeable batteries. You do have to mount the battery just a fraction higher than standard, but so far no problems.

old meets new. HS explorer and Rev D

Does Anyone have experience of meshing the old explorer RGBM to rev D GFs? I've been happily using explorers on semi-closed and MCCRs for the last ten years. mostly using the mid range RGBM conservatism, which seems to suit me. ( a middle aged English couch potatoe, trying not to work too...

    Controlling Gas via IP differentials

I seem to remember Draeger came out with, I think it was called the SMT, which was a real oddball mechanical system and the on-board bailout was basically just a supply with a lower I.P. plumbed into the main feed. When I first got my Azimuth and before giving it the KISS treatment, I...

    Rev D rehash

Old topics I know, but is anyone ever going to turn out a manufacturers authorised Rev D manual? and will I ever be able to download my dive information? I've been reading and inwardly digesting the recent rebreather forum findings and it strikes me that the manual is a fundamental and being...

    source for connectors

Thanks Michael and Paul, One man's banana is another man's bullet. I'm offshore at the moment, armchair diving, but when I get home, I'll attack my old hammerhead with a vernier. I received some 3mm and 2mm connectors from Hon Kong of all places, but just had time to note that one was too big...

    source for connectors

Thanks guys, but I mean the bullet connectors that are on the opposite end of the Smb/molex looms. I can't see the point of paying eighty odd quid for something I can make in half an hour if only I could find the right size bullets.

    source for connectors

Hi Guys Does anyone know of a source for the gold plated bullet connectors employed in the Inspo. hammerhead? and it would help if they supply to the UK. cheers Pockets

    Electric oxygen Booster

Hi Jacob To be clear, the 2PS2B is an oxygen only pump, which accounts for the relatively low final pressures. supplied by Iain of HSM who has forgotten more than he ever managed to teach me. FYI At home I have a RIX SA6 for oil free HP air, A low pressure shop air compressor (again Oil free)...

    Electric oxygen Booster

Can't tell you about the Stansted, but if you are only pumping Oxygen, I used the RIX 2PS2B for years. Water cooled, three stage if memory serves and kept on going year after year. It isn't cheap but that kind of reliability isn't and it is the only thing I would use to scavenge low pressure...

    Where is Peter?

Yep, that did it. feeling old now. I keep telling myself, it's not the year it's the mileage and it's been a lot of miles since the trailer in cornwall and student diggs in Plymouth. Wishing you all many more miles and sunny diving days.
