Does anyone else HATE this new website?

Sorry, but the font, colors, and general feel of CCR Explorers since whatever "upgrade" occurred is really bad IMO. I haven't since the early days of the internet thought in terms of 'hating' a website. This new look and feel gave me that opportunity. Come on guys, go back.

Meh.

I'm not a huge fan of the green and the board interface takes some getting used to if you're used to vbulletin but I'm not losing any sleep over it. If I'd only been engaged enough to have posted 39 times in almost 4 years, I'd probably care even less (if that's possible)

I don't hate it, but it doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling that the old board did. I just don't like the new look and haven't yet found any advantages that it offers that the old software didn't have.

WTF?!?! It's a free website, get over it.

Some of the busiest sites on the planet look pretty crappy. Drudge not only looks like shit but it's populated with shit content, yet millions of (mostly stupid) people access it daily.

Hi guys,

We do appreciate your comments and observations about the website. Interestingly enough, we have received dozens of private messages indicating that people really like the new site and design. That said, we have been listening to people's concerns and have made several dozen small incremental changes over the past 3 weeks to address some of the concerns. One thing to note is that the traffic is up on the site fairly significantly over the old site, so I suppose that all change is not bad! :)

We will continue to assess user's concerns and where appropriate take action to improve the site as we go. Please keep in mind that this is a free site which operates on a shoestring budget. About 95% of the cost of running the site is self funded by the owners and consequently, we have to make changes incrementally so as not to upset our spouses when we steel their grocery money to keep the doors open! :)

We realize that change is never easy for a community, and we appreciate your patience as we strive to improve the experience for all involved.

Warm regards,
Randy

One of the observations that we have received multiple times over the past couple of weeks is that if our members would take a few seconds to upload a picture or graphic for their avatar, we would be seeing a lot less "green dots" and the viewing experience would be enhanced. How about it guys? Let's get rid of the green dots! :)

Ok, here's a site request, can you make the "Mark Forums Read" link not require confirmation?

I'm not quite understanding what you are trying to accomplish. If you go to the forums page, any thread that has a new post has a "new" box next two it, so you instantly can see which threads require your attention. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I don't understand what you are after.

I think he is referring to the box that pops up after you click "mark forums read" that you have to confirm the action for it to actually happen. i do no like this extra step either.

OK, I got it. We'll take a look at this. Thanks for explaining Don!

Randy....

I like the new site and design.... I find the dark color on dark color background and fonts hard to read at times due to the lack of contrast... Nice that it works well on a mobile device..

Just my two cents...

OK, so I have spoken to the programmer and he informs me that the double click is "core Xenforo functionality" and we don't really have the option of changing that. Apparently it is designed that way to prevent people from accidentally deleting something without intending to do so. Hopefully everyone can get used to the double click requirement. Sorry about that. I tried! :)

Thanks Mark. We'll take a look at adjusting the background colors slightly. Stay tuned!
