Another hose failure on my JJ
Went diving Friday and janos told me i had a leek on my ADV feed hose. Thaught it was the o ring but it was a hose failure again.
![]() ![]() Four hoses failed so far. Both HP hoses 02 feed to the head and Diluient feed from manifold block. Not easily noticable so well worth checking them all out. I checked my unit after Malin but this must have hapened in the last week or so. Nice day out and i didnt miss the dive This was the view as we left port.

Guess there was a reason why Jan changed em to miflex hoses, you have quite an early version yeah? I assume you are doing the same? Not realy. I replaced the 02 feed and SPG hoses with Miflex but the rest are just standard reg hoses cut to fit using APD conections. Mainly to avoid the cost of MTM Miflex hoses ATB Mark |

FFS Mark, just swap them out for Miflex. I did mine en masse last year and they've been faultless since then. Main point of me posting was to draw attention to the problem to people with the early JJ hoses so they do a detailed inspection of their rig. "Just" replacing all the hoses is simple enough but i baught 4 standard Miflex and three SPGs (two for the JJ one ofr a deco tank) and that set me back £300.00 I dont se a big problem butchering hoses i already own and no longer use. I have never had this sort of failure on LP hoses before. ATB Mark |

Main point of me posting was to draw attention to the problem to people with the early JJ hoses so they do a detailed inspection of their rig. I know mate, I'm only yanking your chain. I originally thought that the re-usable feature was great, meaning one could easily swap out a hose in an emergency using any old hose available and I still carry a few around with me on trips where I really don't want to miss a dive. However the fittings are a bit prone to corroding and can look a bit shit if you've had to swap them out a few times as they're soft brass. Another benefit of using 'washing machine hoses' is that they are a lot lighter if travelling is important. And the ends stay nice and shiny ![]() Just buy a few meters of LP hose from somewhere and rebuild the JJ hoses if you don't want to shell-out for Miflex. |

Oh, souinds like a dike on the Duke, to rich for my blood Rob I have never done a dike on the duke. but i am willing to give it a go :DIt wasn't the Duke M8 it was the Alberny (Canadian ship full of bones in 70m I wouldn't recommend it. No so much because of the skeletons but more because i didn't think much of it as a dive) ATB Mark |
