Exclamation CR-P2 battery-end of production?

On some other forums i read rumors that this type of battery (drives JJ-CCR solenoid) is supposed to be end of production?!

As some of you may know, AP changed the shape of the YBOD battery box to fit in some CR123 cells. Some say, because of the coming EOP of CR-2P batteries....
http://silentdivingdirect.com/wp-con...upgrade-v2.pdf

Has any of you got a credible source for this rumor?
Does that mean we have to stock up batteries because of coming shortage?

I recall the splurge on this saying it was because it isn't so easy to source CR-P2's in certain parts of the world like Australasia

To my knowledge CRP2's were used back in the 80 and 90s for film slr cameras. Film slr's are a thing of the past and I'm sure the CRP2 is on the way out. i wouldn't get too stressed I'm sure a work round like the AP solution will come eventually.

There has been good reports of them in the Hammerhead. I ran my Mark15 on rechargeables with no issues.
