I use a 30 thou orifice. I wonder why they printed the orifice size on the MAV ? A bit confusing if you change it.
I wouldn't dive without a MAV it has been there a few times when I needed it, usually when helping others. I have used low mixes as low as 14% but I am careful to have lungs full of near enough neat O2 when close to the surface. |

I finally got a 4 port manifold made up by Martin at Tecme, so was able to keep the ADV, BOV and still have the block. Did a few dives this week, and it worked great. I like it, and glad I bought it now.

Quick update, all works well, very nice to dive with easily controlling O2 and Dil and not straining to pull air through the ADV.

Before removing your ADV, you might want to consider that some of the earlier rebreather fatalities have been attributed to certain units (not KISS) that were designed without an ADV and depended on manual dilution addition. I remember reading some of the reports around 2003-2004. Of course, RB training in the early 2000's was far less extensive that today.
