Canīt post links yet but Golem Gear has a
BOV Quick Disconnect. Looks really simple. Just fit that to all my bail out and i can connect to the BOV. Anyone tried it? Reliable? Extra failure point? |

Yeah, no problem Matty, I'll bring one over with me but you'll need to get the DIVA Rev D HUD holder:
HUD holder for Juergensen Marine Hammerhead DIVA Rev D. The Mod is just a sleeve that fits over the Shearwater HUD and then allows it to slide into the DIVA HUD holder. |

That wouldn't work on mine as I've put some shrinkwrap over the end of the HUD to provide a bit of strain relief to the cable. Looks compact though.Out of interest, where do you get the Shearwater HUD holder adaptor? |

Hey Jase,Out of interest, where do you get the Shearwater HUD holder adaptor? That looks like the top section of the bog standard concertina style HUD holder that comes with the Shearwater HUD if you buy it independently. SW sent me one out, but it violates your 'no injection moulded parts' rule. Regardless, I think that your setup is far studier. |

Hey Jase, Cool, thanks Dave. I haven't dived it yet, just set it up this week and weather is looking pretty average for the weekend too, but I should be able to get a couple in hopefully so will let you know how it goes.

Okay, dived the Shrimp and DIVA HUD holder on the weekend. Shrimp was beautiful, as was my other Shrimp. Mouthpiece is too soft, so I have now swapped it for the Divex one from the JJ.
I found that the loop didn't allow me quite the same level of head movement that the JJ BOV did and I think this is something to do with the length of the hose retainers on the Dolphin hose kit the Shrimp comes with. JCook is right, the DIVA REVD holder is huge if you sit it up on top where the JJ HUD normally sits, but by rotating it around a couple of clicks, it is a lot better and allowed me to see the HUD led's quite clearly for a change. The small sleeve was tight when dry but was a little loose when wet, so the Engineering Shop are making me three more with a tighter tolerance. One for me, one for Dave Tipping and one for Matty P. The Shrimp also seemed a whisker heavier in my mouth than the JJ BOV and my chin doesn't seem to touch the chin rest in the water with positive pressure in the loop. So results were generally very good and with a few tweaks, it should be even better. |
