It wasn't the Duke M8 it was the Alberny (Canadian ship full of bones in 70m I wouldn't recommend it. No so much because of the skeletons but more because i didn't think much of it as a dive)

Regarding this hose failure thing. If you strip you unit down after each dive you would spot any problems before they become a dive stopper.
